Ford MS Sync

Anyone here who's played with a pre-release Moto Droid and know if Ford's Microsoft Sync works with the Droid?

I'm mainly interested in the phone/Blue Tooth functionality, does it connect, how is the sound level on the recipient's end?

TIA

I just got a new explorer and the dealer insists it should work yet I have not been able to get it to sync yet nor could the dealer...although I have not spent too much time on it. Was hoping to find a solution here. I have the Droid running 2.2

I have a 2009 Sync on my flex and it works fine. It doesn't read texts, but otherwise seems to have full functionality of phonebook and bluetooth play. never a complaint about the calls.

Droid running 2.1 and now 2.2. FYI

I second that for my Droid + 2010 Ford Escape. The only problem I came across was that when doing the initial pairing, you have to be really quick with typing in the code the car provides you - this due to the droid timing out, not the car. I had to try about 5 times before I got it but once I did it worked fine. The only other problem I've had (not really a problem but something to be aware of) is that one time while experimenting with the various Froyo builds I ended up wiping data and cache. After doing that the car saw the Droid as a different phone so I had to go through pairing again. This wouldn't be a problem just doing the regular Verizon update.

I use my Droid for making and receiving calls as well as bluetooth streaming audio for audio books ripped from CD to the phone. For those uses it works great.

I just received my 2010 explorer that I orderd and sync works great , you use the sync voice to make the calls not the phone, when you connect it uploads your phone book, sync is amazing. The only thing I don't care for is it is a pain to get the phone to connect and the txt feature is not supported with the droid, meaning you can't read the txt messages from your radio, but it does support other phones, but I guess reading a txt while driving is not the safest practice

got a 2008 Edge Limited - Droid works awesome BUT no text message ability via the system. I use it all the time in my Edge.

you know, the 1 odd thing I noticed. my phones screen will stay on while in a call. that is, if I initiate a call, I look down and there is the screen on. no biggie if you have your charging cable, but think about it. I try to push screen off and sometimes, after like the 3-4th press, it will stay off. thats 1 odd thing.

I have a 09 Fusion(I am a Ford technician) I have no problems with the sync and the droid1. I even mount my phone via usb to the sync system and I can use voice commands to play my music. for example I say play artist Michael Bolton and it would play it if I had Michael Bolton on my phone.. lol The calls are nice, my only problem with it is if you go into privacy mode the stereo system stays muted and wont play anything. Thats Ford not the phone though

I have a 2010 F150 with sync and currently i use:
ipod connected via USB for music
blackberry connected via bluetooth for phone
garmin connected via power for nav
I am planning on buying the samsung captivate when rogers releases it and a car dock and what I am wondering is if I put the phone in a car dock and connect only to USB and pair it to bluetooth, will I be able to make calls, play music, use the maps/nav all while using sync? Because I notice when i try to play music via bluetooth sync doesnt have full voice control and when i hook up my ipod via usb the ford logo takes over and i cant control the device unless its through sync. So it seems like the phone to do all three is a bit unlikely. Holy crap that was long winded... sorry... i appreciate any input...
