Are all the buttons on the evo fragile?

Ok so my power button started to sink into the phone where it's almost flush with the top of the phone. because of this, I downloaded an app called "no lock" which allows me to turn my phone on with the lower volume button.

Am I just gonna wear out that button and have the same problem with two of my buttons instead of just the power button? I know the power button sinking has been a somewhat common problem. I guess what I'm asking is has anyone had problems with their volume buttons sinking, breaking, etc? Or are those buttons tougher than the wimpy "power" button (there's an oxy moron)? Thanks for any info in advance!

Well my wife and I both have the evo and it's pretty clear that my button is recessed. I can still use it fine, the thing that worries me is if it gets worse to the point where I can't even hit the button. I have sprints $7 insurance plan, so if it gets to that point, I'll get it covered. Thanks all for your input

Pretty much all HTC buttons are fragile, so this isn't unique to just the EVO. HTC is known to be a "down stopper", which means they tend to use materials or piece parts that are one level below average except for promotional areas such as the EVO's kickstand or the Legend's body, etc...Basically, if you don't see a bulletpoint in their brochure, don't expect quality.

I knew this would eventually become an issue. When I first purchased the EVO I couldn't help but wonder why the power button was so recessed considering the amount of times we all have to press it to wake up our phones. Didn't HTC think of this? I mean, seriously.

The EVO's a great smart-phone and all, but this will be my last HTC phone ever. There quality control is atrocious.

You shouldn't need to use the insurance. I'd take it back now and ask Sprint to replace the phone under the manufacturer's warranty. Take both phones, so they can see the difference.

"is known to be a down-stopper"... I for one didn't "know" that. Got any evidence of this allegedly widely held understanding?
