This was posted on Samsung's official twitter page:

"We love forums. Great discussion on Samsung Epic 4G at AndroidForums.com"

We dont have a price, We dont have a release date. its not rocket science to figure why the person is frustrated.

Just because you "follow" Samsung's tweets doesn't mean everyone else does

When would you be entitled to the release date and price of the EPIC 2? Do they have to tell you that right now too? Do they have to give you the specs and info for the next 6 months equipment releases, the next year, the next two?
As consumers, you are entitled whatever the company wants to tell you about their own products, whenever they want to. If you were a phone manufacturer you would be entitled to the info about the phone you are producing, otherwise you are entitled to nothing.
I bet you think free health care is a "right" you are entitled to, too?

We can argue in circles all day dude, and besides, how does the saying go? "Don't argue with an idiot; people watching may not be able to tell the difference."?

No one here says they feel entitled to this information, we're not rushing out to file lawsuits. But no one likes a tease. Let's show off these phones months in advance, say they're "coming soon" and then go quiet and not release any information. That's just bad business practice. Name me one phone that just showed up on store shelves with no information of release date or pricing ahead of time.

Now get back to playing with your Tonka trucks and leave this discussion for grownups...

as consumers I believe that we should be entitled to info like price, release date.

No one here is asking for top secret documents man lol..

A few things. It does Samsung nor Sprint any good if they don't yet know the release date. There are a few things that can indicate why they might be pushing it back or be behind, number one being Samsung's own ability to be able to keep up with the demand for AMOLED screens. Number 2 being an issue with GPS that they may be trying to solve.

Committing to a date they can't keep will make unhappy customers (Dell Streak), and possibly robs customers from other phones like the Evo.

And I get that, to my recollection Samsung has had trouble keeping up with the demands from "other" device manufactures, not its own line of product (Galaxy S). The galaxy line in other countries has sold over 200,000 phones around a month ago. Probably more by now. The galaxy line in the US has sold decent. Unless im mistaken and someone can show me proof, Samsung has reported no shortage of SAMOLED screens. GPS, well thats defiantly something to consider.

Seriously, you're all acting like a bunch of children. This waiting is really pushing the limits with some of you.

And as mentioned by others in this thread, Samsung is in no way required to announce a price point or release date. Granted, this kind of information has become the norm for being announced before a release.

Were all in the same boat here, we might as well get along while we wait.

Hopefully I can clear some things up with my theory on why info hasn't been released yet.

Its marketing. Pure and simple. Sprint JUST released the EVO. The first 4g phone and all that jazz. people are still super hyped and absorbed in it. I'm not gonna deny its a great phone, but people in the know, know whats up with the EPIC. Right now, Sprint is milking the EVO for all its worth, getting it spread out and letting people get used to it.

That's when the EPIC will hit to keep the ball rolling right as it starts to slow down. Think about it. The DROID 2 is coming out later this week. Releasing now would be suicide for sprint. Better to let the D2 have all its glory and amp up for an end of the month release, which is what I think they are doing.

OP, don't be so butthurt. Try to understand that samsung isn't the only factor in this matter. chill and look forward to a great phone like everyone else :)

A fine theory except Sprint doesn't have the ball rolling with the Evo 4g. HTC can't keep up with the demand fast enough to keep customers and potential customers happy. With Verizon having 3 Droid Top End phones, Sprint would do well to keep the customers signing up by getting the Epic out the door as soon as possible, and to start generating income for 4G expansion. Right now Sprint is in danger of losing potential Evo customers to someone willing to chance it on Verizon for the Droid X, Incredible, or even the Droid 2.

hey there! you wanna be a ref? go join a league. people have disagreements get over it.

There is a difference between having a disagreement and childish squables. I am just trying to get everyone to calm down and just discuss things.

You can get angry over me trying to be a voice of reason, you have every right, but it serves no purpose.
