So the other day I thought I would update to 2.2 on my Droid and thought I would try rooting my Droid so I could overclock it. I updated it and it worked fine for a day then I tried over clocking it and when I installed the rom it installed but when it went to restart it keeps getting stuck on the Motorola screen for a minute then restarts. I have tried getting it back to recovery mode but nothing happens when I hold down the X key. I have pulled the battery and tried doing a soft reset but that didnt work. I know its not the battery cause I got a new Droid from Verizon and the battery works fine in my new one. Can anyone help me out. I dug myself in a deep hole I believe. Any help would be much apperciated. Thanks in advance.

I know this is gonna make me sound really dumb but I didn't take my time like everyone said too. Honestly I'm not real sure. I'm pretty sure I was using BB for the ROM and I do believe you are right about the app. I cant remember the kernel I was using. Can you help me with the lil info I have given you? Thanks.

Try the volume up + power or d-pad up + power. If you can't get out of the boot loop or into recovery my only advice is to restore the phone with RSD lite through the computer. Revert back to 2.1 and then root the phone again. There is always a hard reset option as well.

Next time make a back up first after root or before you ever do any tinkering. Also you need to remember the Rom you use and other info you change because it really helps when trying to help you with a problem.

Ok the d-pad up + power did the trick it brought me to the boot loader screen but when I try to do anything it keeps saying that the battery is too low. It must not be reading the battery right cause it is fully chargered. I have tried two different batteries and neither one of them work in the phone that don't work but they both work fine in the new phone I got. Any other suggestions? Thanks again for all the help.

I have noticed on some phones (not droid) that if you plug it into the computer when they were completely drained once (and you have the phone drivers which you should already on the computer) that the phone will trickle charge. Try leaving it plugged into the computer usb for a long time. Like 8 hours. If that doesn't work just use RSD lite to try and flash back. I will do some more research for you now.

Pull the battery and slide the keyboard open, then holding the X key(never let go of the X key) put the battery back in and see if the recovery mode comes up. now you can let go of X key if you get recovery. If you get recovery flash a good rom or backup copy. Let me know.

That actually worked, but only gave me 5 seconds to choose from the options, then it automatically progressed to Moto screen and remained frozen there.

Load a rom backup on your sd card from the computer in Nandroid folder(if sprecovery) and try to be fast scrolling to the install with the volume and camera keys. If you are able to just scroll to the install and pest the camera button it shouldn't resort to the Moto logo. Sorry, I am trying to help.

At work right now, so I will try that when I get home.

Appreciate you taking the time to help.

It even says low battery when you have it plugged in to a wall socket and try to boot? Because I can boot my phone with no battery attached and just the wall charger.

Yes I have tried booting it when it was plugged in to the wall outlet and it still didnt work. When I try plugging it my usb port and tried doing it that way I get the same result. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much for taking the time to help me.

I'm at a loss as well. My phone won't even go into recovery mode anymore. It will go into boot mode most times (not every time), but says the same thing about the low battery. I was hoping last night's charge 8 plus hours would have remedied it, but nothing. So anyway, I'm just going to take it back to the VZW Store to get a replacement. I formatted my micro SD card, because it had the clockwork folder on it. I've only had my phone for 5 days, so they said the would replace it no charge.

Can you not reflash with RSD Lite as I mentioned earlier? I know you can flash even if you only get the bootloader screen. You really should do this. Flash SPrecovery and then see if you can access recovery. I am prety sure RSD Lite is going to work. Just flash back to an older version or flash SPrecovery and put a good nandroid back up on your SD card and restore it. If you don't have a nandroid folder just backup the bad rom you have now to create a folder and replace it with the good nandroid backup. If you get recovery you can just flash BB again from Pete also. Please try RSD Lite. I think it will save you.

Does not work. Already tried this. Goes to bootloader screen, then shuts off by itself. Also, cpu does not recognize my phone. And yes, have the correct drivers installed.

I can't take my phone back in cause if they find out I rooted it they will void my warrenty and charge me for the phone. Is there something a file or anything that I can put on my SD card to wipe the internal memory on the phone?
