I am a noob, so plese don't kill me for this.

I rooted my vibrant last night just to install lag fix.
I could manage to do that and now I am happy that my lag issue went away.
I am getting 2100+ on quadrant:).

Anyway, since I have a rooted vibrant, now what?
What should I do to my phone? other than lag fix?

Get rid of the bloatware. Don't try with stuff that seems too deep in the phone though, like TouchWiz.

Is there something like one click root for the vibrant? I wanna root, but I'm a bit scared. Also, if I root will I continue to receive android updates like froyo?

Rooting alone doesn't replace anything on your phone. Rooting merely gives you free reign over your phone, allowing you to do things that were otherwise not possible due to manufacturer limitations.

One of the more popular things to do with root is removal of "bloatware" or apps that the manufacturer or carrier puts on the phone with no way of removing. Examples on the Vibrant include Telenav GPS, Gogo, Samsung Media Hub (which is only currently worthless because it doesn't work), etc...

By rooting, you now have the ability to remove these things, freeing up space and making your phone faster.

You can also do a host of other cool things that are relatively risk-free if you research what you're doing first.

Once you place a custom ROM on the phone, you then will not receive updates from TMobile/Samsung. But keep in mind that once we hear about an official date for an update, there is a way to get back to stock so that you can receive the updates.

Also, keep in mind that while you may not be able to get updates OTA, the developers for this phone are some of the best that Android has, so you have nothing to worry about as they will provide every update possible to this phone (which are way better than the original updates anyways).
