Honestly, What's Better; HTC Desire, or the Motorola Milestone?

I bought the Milestone a few weeks ago, but I'm wondering if because of all this drama Motorola has created over Froyo, that my phone is going a little too far behind the curve. The auto-start in the Music app is really pissing me off, and the lack of call clarity on the Milestone 2.1 is really, really annoying.

So I'm wondering if I should just return the Milestone and get the HTC Desire.

What is known about this device? Is there any pros / cons to it? Please weigh in and let me know your opinions. I know overall it's my choice, but I came into Android knowing nothing so I'd really like some advice from those with more experience than I with Moto / HTC products, as well as Android / Sense overall.

Its up to you if you want a faster processor ( 1ghz to 550mhz ) ( The milestone can be overclocked to 1.2ghz ). More ram ( 512mb to 256 mb ). If you want sense or vanilla android. If you want on screen keyboard or physical keyboard.

As for 2.2 on milestone [IMAGE] MotoFrenzy (Froyo 2.2 for milestone) flash this i have been using for 2 weeks now safely and its amazing. If you haven't rooted your milestone yet then you don't know what your missing. It is the single best thing you can do to your phone. Once you overclock it everything becomes smooth as butter

Well..I used to have the BlackBerry Storm2, so the physical keyboard thing / lack thereof doesn't really bother me, I use SwiftKey all the time anyways.. Sense doesn't seem that much different / better than vanilla.

But how do you install that MotoFrenzy? :S This is all new to me..

I used to do leaks on my BB so I'm not technologically inept, I just don't know what Nandroid or anything is.

Oh, and it is rooted, but with the stock 2.1 I couldn't overclock, I downloaded an app and it maxed at 550 Mhz. The only real thing it gave me was a phone-wide cache clear and screen captures.

Any help you could offer with installation of this would be great. Does it stay rooted once you update? Will rooting work on this update?
