3D gallery now available!

That is a false statement(for me anyway). When I hit "share", I see all of the choices that I have in my stock gallery. It may take awhile to get it all synced up.

Well for one, I wasn't making a statement. Very odd way of you to respond. Two, the HTC Gallery allows you to browse both Facebook and Flickr albums as if they were already on the phone. I used 3D gallery before and didn't see this.

Sharing is universal as I wasn't speaking of it.

Im not digging it too much. What does it do better than the stock one?
Look pretty? Haha I just know a LOT of people were yearning for "pinch to peek" and the 3D gallery, it's a really cool interface, but I think that's the only bonus. That and the fact that the stock gallery seems to need to repopulate every time I open it.

Why does this gallery app need soooo many permissions?
Storage I understand
System Tools I understand
but Network communication? 'Fine' GPS location? Full internet access?

Sorry for coming off paranoid, but are we sure that this is a direct rip of the regular app and doesn't have anything extra thrown in?

Didn't even pay attention to that, but a good question. I would say internet access for sharing, and possibly location for geo tagging??

Nothing really... it just looks prettier..

but it does not function as well..

sticking to my stock gallery.
Yea, I think I will too. Having to wait for the pictures to repopulate and waiting a few moments isnt cool.

The FPS seems to drop when dragging to find a picture you want to look at.

And it constantly twitches when is adjust my holding angles and such.

Also when sliding across in full pictures the thumbnail before the full picture loads is awfully blurry.

You have a "no" in there followed by "right"??? I was just trying to make it clear as to what I was trying to say without mixing up a bunch of negatives with positives and double negatives which equals a positive....that is all. I wasn't trying to be an asshole or anything. Sorry bout that. And yes, I now understand the intent of your question...I obviously didn't before. But "sharing" would be considered "integration". Maybe I should have repsonded, "No, yes there is.". Would you have understood that?

Once all of your albums populate, then these anomalies go away. And the albums remain populated so they don't have to re-populate next time you select the gallery. Give it a chance(or don't). It took quite a while for all of my albums to populate but once they did, it does work much more smoothly. I think one of the bad things about Froyo is that the stock gallery does in fact have to repopulate every time you select it. This was not the case on 2.1 and another thing that annoys me about 2.2.

What do you gain with this gallery....not much. It is just a different presentation of your photos...that is all. And pinch to peek is kinda cool but I think actually selecting the album provides a better "peek" of what is in the album.

Call me old fashioned but I guess I choose functionality of the old over the beauty of the new.
