1.3 GHz Android smart phones " Motorola DROID Pro"

From the original source of the info:

Exclusive: Verizon Wireless 2010/2011 roadmap! Boy Genius Report

One of our Verizon Wireless sources has dropped a whole bunch of info in our laps. We’re talking intimate details of Verizon Wireless’ plans for the rest of 2010, 2011 and even some 2012 plans. Android tablets, LTE MiFi units, Android 3.0, video conferencing, and a whole lot more. Read on for the full details!
  • In addition to the Motorola DROID and Motorola DROID X, we’re told Motorola will launch a new DROID handset, the Motorola DROID Pro. It is supposed to have a 1.3GHz CPU, 4″ screen and global roaming capabilities. Estimated launch of November 2010
  • Motorola is working with Verizon on a “slab form-factor” device that sort of looks like an old Motorola Q but features a full touchscreen and global roaming. It will run Android 2.2. Maybe this will be a lower cost, MOTOBLUR handset?
  • There are a lot more Android invasions happening before the end of the year, we’re told. This includes a global Android device from both Samsung and HTC.
  • Samsung is working on a 7″ screen Android tablet with front-facing camera. Motorola is also working on a tablet as well, except it will sport a 10″ screen, either 1GHz or 1.3GHz CPU, front-facing camera, and Android 3.0. Don’t expect the Motorola so soon though, as we’re informed that while the launch was supposed to happen in December, Android 3.0 will probably hold up the release of that device and we should expect it around February 2011.
  • Verizon Wireless is aiming and on track to have at least 75% of the country covered in LTE coverage by April 2012
  • There will be a Novatel LTE MiFi device available in January or February that will apparently support up to 10 simultaneous Wi-Fi users.
  • Lastly, we’re told LTE data pricing will stick at $59.99/month, though it’s unclear what the data allowance will be. (This is for data cards, not smartphones)

I, for one, want to see this DROID Pro (which may be the rumored DROID 2, but doubt it as it drops Nov not next month), but anything that Motorola includes MOTOBLUR on I am passing on. Period.

isnt a Droid Pro that is 1.3 just the same CPU as the Droid but with the governors taken off?

Most Droid processors can't reach 1.3GHz. Not stably, at least. It may be a processor one model # up, for example. Or it may be the same one as the Droid X has. But I doubt it's this one at 1.3GHz!

As for these phones, I will, as everyone else said, pass on Motoblur crap. I also don't think I can justify an upgrade to the Droid Pro if it's 1.3GHz and 4" screen. After playing with my dad's Droid X, I can say for sure that I want my next phone to be 4.3" or larger, and ideally with a keyboard.

I don't get why every manufacturer and their grandma is releasing keyboard-less phones. The best-selling Android phone was one of the few that had a keyboard... hmm, is it a coincidence or not?

Honestly, the Droid X would be the perfect phone if not for lack of a keyboard and the whole locked-down bootloader crap. But I am getting a little off-topic now.

There's not a lot of info yet, but Motorola is allegedly working on a device called the Droid Pro. It is rumored to be powered by a 1.3GHz processor, sport a 4 inch screen, and it should have global roaming capabilities. This sounds perfect for business users and is exactly what I've been waiting for!

This sounds great! Until the week following the release when fuzzy photos start popping up showing a dual core Droid Ultimate with 3D holographic screen and James Bond laser.

I'm still holding out for the LTE capable devices.
This is what I'm holding out for! X-like with a keyboard and LTE...I have a few days of waiting still, but am hopeful there will be such a thing some day.
