I've been reading threads on the forum, regarding the market's availability.

The Questions:
Is it true that in some areas, you aren't able to access the market at full potential (Full access) ??
Is there a way to make it allow us to access all applications? If yes, is there a guide.

I am asking these prior of getting my HTC Hero, so in whatever circumstances/answers/facts I'm able to know the answer, and not bother myself to ask it later.

Thanks;

To answer your questions: Yes and yes.

Some areas only have access to free apps.
I don't have the full list in my head, but I have seen it somewhere, perhaps in this forum. I know that this includes Scandinavia, and several other countries.

To get access you have to Root your phone and install Market Enabler.
There are several guides on how to do this, and you will most likely find them by a search of this forum, or use Google.

A new post on twitter (cant remember who from) said its still not 100% confirmed that carriers of the hero as in t-mob,orange will definately get android 2.0! I hope we do otherwise my brand new g2 touch will be so far out of date already (I read that google are already working on android 2.1 Flan i think its called)

Its is a little odd that the G1 is more upto date than the hero?

Not really. The G1 has been on the market for much longer than the Hero, so has a larger user base. The Hero has only recently hit the N American market, and introducing a major update so soon would lead to confusion, as would releasing it only for selected markets. The G1 also doesn't have the added complication of SenseUI; HTC have to ensure that it works on top of Eclair and that it doesn't break established third-party apps.
