Root Installing sprecovery / nandroid on droid x

this makes me sad :(
is it a program that can basically take an image of my device (settings and all...i REALLY want my settings) that can be used with just root.
does titanium just back up the apps??
i would like to take a snapshot of my device as it is and just do some magic to get it back just the way it was if for example, i switch to another droid x.
because if im correct, that is what nandroid does....right??

Doing a full backup with either MyBackup or TiBk, if you're rooted, will allow you to restore everything except widgets. This includes your home screens. LP also has a save feature although the restore didn't work on my phone.

You will need to have root first for the restore and you better have a the paid version of TB if you plan on using it. Otherwise the restore is not automated. Actually you don't need root to restore with MyBackUp but TB needs root to even run. Just do a restore + data and you should get your setup back.

Just a side note the home screen restore doesn't work if you try to restore to a different launcher. It will try and it may be close or it may be totally f'ed.

that makes sense. i use launcher pro and i use the restore. it works good. so i more than likely would load that first, then load titanium backup (tibk right?) to load my settings and apps and what not. sound about right doesnt it?

Well alldroid is working on cracking the bootloader with their dev phone, but until the bootloader is cracked we can't do this

I didn't realize this. I made an SPRecovery Nandroid of my phone before I rooted. I thought all I had to do was go back into SPRecovery and restore the Nandroid to get the system back to stock.

Can someone verify that this in fact can't be done and the only way to get back to stock is to flash an SBF with RSD? Just trying to figure out how to get the .340 OTA for my rooted/deodexed/themed phone. Thanks.
