Hey guys - this is a really urgent post and would VERY much appreciate useful information (try to avoid getting too technical cause I seriously get annoyed by that sort of crap).
Basically I got a new Desire (unbranded) and I've had it for just over 24 hours. I've charged it 3 times (now its running on my third charge) and it only lasts around 3 hours. I use it pretty heavily but my screen display brightness is super low, wifi is only turned on, nothing else is turned on, and no phone calls, no texting, just mainly internet. I was surfing the net and Android market all together for around 2 hours (and did some Facebook stuff). All this and it only lasted 3 hours. I'm aware that loads say the first few days suck and I hope that the same thing applies for me. The thing is just charging the phone makes the back of the phone slightly warm. Nothing major but still warm which I fail to understand as to how charging a phone (and the display and everything is on low and everything is turned off) so thats a bit puzzling.
Also when I use the phone, it gets heated pretty quickly like after watching a YouTube video or listening to songs whilst surfing the web. Its nothing TOOO hot but fairly warm when my previous handsets never faced all this heating issues and I easily got a good 8 hours out of them after constant usage.
Is it normal to only get 3 hours of juice for the first few days? How can I improve battery life than the obvious (no app killing talk please because app killing does NOT work - just a whole load of BS). Also when connected to the FM radio, it only happened once but about 20 minutes into listening to the radio, the whole Desire froze and MAJOR lag. I hardly had anything installed then. Now I have around 15 apps, all fairly tiny ones and pretty useless (like joke apps).
Anyway - 3 hours of battery is quite worrying. I have no live wallpapers or anything installed, I'm using quite a dark wallpaper. So help would be appreciated. I've searched around a lot on the forums and everyone has said stuff that I already have tried (like screen brightness, stuff to turn off etc.)
If people could extend on their points and be specific about what to do to conserve battery power, I'd like that a lot.
Anotherthing is that I'm going to Egypt where the temperature is around 45 degrees celcius. I heard another guy say his Desire got messed up or something when he was in Texas, anything like that might happen to my phone? When I'm in Egypt, I only plan to use my phone to take photos and also play around on the apps. Any danger?
Advice is very much appreciated since I'm leaving for Egypt this weekend and should be back in a week so tips to make me survive throughout the week would be good. Whilst I'm in Egypt, all the stuff will be turned off apart from in the hotel if I manage to find a free wifi spot
So guys - help me out here!
