Hey man, don't be sorry. You where trying to help other folks. Can't really go wrong there. I appreciate the heads up and was real excited when I first saw it too.

I keep looking. I can't wait until my tine rolls around. AT&T will upgrade me now, but I would have to purchase through them and I'd rather be patient and save about $100.

It's $99.99 with contract extension on Amazon for a single line. $169.99 for a family plan. I bought mine from Amazon and they were awesome when I asked for an exchange due to GPS/battery issues. Sent me a repalcement next day air. Very happy I bought it from them.

Kinda sad that this phone is getting so cheap, as in to the point of probably it will be free soon enough. I honestly don't understand why as this is a great phone and one I returned my iPhone 4 in order to get.

Don't they have a 30 day return policy? Seems everyone has one of these now a days, a 30 day period to see if the phone is right for you or not. If your not sure, I would give them a call, can possibly save you a nice chunk of change.

I have been looking at the Captivate for a while now, and the best price that AT&T would give me on an upgrade for my 5 year old Blackberry was $199. I checked the price at my local WalMart and they had it for $148.88... so I called AT&T at their 1-800 customer service line to ask why in the heck any retailer could sell the phone $50 cheaper than AT&T themselves.

After I asked that very question, the rep went away for about 5 minutes with me put on hold.

When he came back, he gave me the phone for $50! I ensured that it was a new (not refurbished) Samsung Captivate and I get to keep my unlimited data plan! So don't let them tell you that they can't cut the price... they practically gave me the phone in order to keep my account.

So, after a ton of searching for deals, I ended up getting my contract renewal/upgrade through letstalk.com for $74, which included a discount code I found online for $25 off (the phone was $99). The price on their site now is $89, which would mean $64 with the discount code (just google "letstalk discount codes").

Well, after reading about everyone's woes for the last couple of weeks and experiencing my own frustration with the GPS (though I love the phone and don't have a lot of need for the gps), I decided to go ahead and exchange mine for a new one, just in case there's some miracle fix in the replacement. When I called letstalk to ask about exchanging my phone, they said no problem, and they'd even refund me the difference from what I paid if the current price is lower. Long way of saying I'll be getting $10 back, and will have paid $64 for a great phone!!

Newegg also allows $99 for renewal. I just upgraded one of my lines on our family plan for $99. I had to call to do it though, since the website made me upgrade both phones.

They do, but I'd have to go without a phone for the time, which I'm lazy and its not really worth the effort for $30
