Moisture Sensor Be Careful!

I did a battery pull yesterday and while doing the pull I placed my thumb over the bottom area of the sensor and guess what it turned pink!

Well noo, I didn't even notice I was holding it that way. I had also just put lotion on my hands so im sure that didn't help.

I had to do a battery pull this morning and if I was looking at the correct thing, the sensor is not just pink, I think it is red. The phone has NEVER been wet. My phone has a solid case on it, plus lives in a koozie in my purse for extra protection. It has for sure never ever gotten wet, been in any water of any kind, nothing spilled on or around it, etc.

Mine was trigged too. Either from sitting on the sink in the bathroom, or being in 125+ degree attics all day. Appearently there are more sensors and they can supposedly tell the difference between it getting a lil moisture and being submerged, for insurance purposes.

I went through this a few years ago at a store, they argued with me that it was wet. I live in South Louisiana where it is 100% humidity year round.

Means I also ALWAYS have a koozie available for that much needed cold beverage on a hot day, too .

My phones have lived in koozies for years. Way too easy to get scratched up and randomly dial when it gets put in a purse v. a pocket. Also worked perfect when I charge the phone in the car and use the aux in for music - put the koozie plus phone in the cup holder and instant cushion!

Where specifically is the sensor located? I took the back off and battery out and looked around. I see nothing pink or red, but I wanted to peek at mine just to be sure and ummmmm I'm not really sure where it is. Thanks!

hahaha the second day I had my phone I was a work... you could just guess what happened next... It fell in a mop bucket FULL of water I only had the phone for two days:/

I tried this after drowning my Sprint Hero in diesel fuel: remove battery & sprayed it liberally with ether (i.e. starting fluid). The ether evaporated so quickly it appeared to reverse the color change of the moisture sensor.
Not saying you should try this, but it worked for me.
