Massive EVO wallpaper collection OVER 1800! (Updated: 2/4/11)

Hi everyone. Here is a collection of wallpapers resized for for your EVO home screen (960x800), most of which are from interfacelift.com. ENJOY!

Original file names kept intact, so don't worry, they are indeed 960x800.

This is a very bare form. I hope to get some sort of site going in the future that is much more organized :p

I will be adding more as I find them.

update 2/4/11: http://www.freeza-inc.com/evo/wallpapers020411.zip

Also, to utilize multiple wallpapers on your phone, I use a program called WallSwitch, which you can customize to automatically change your wallpapers at a specified interval.

Attached below is a file that if put in the directory of your wallpapers, will hide them from galleries, and tells android not to index the files. Having tons of wallpapers in your gallery might slow it down initially as it tries to index and build thumbnails of them. Just go ahead and unzip and toss the ".nomedia" file into whatever directory you're trying to hide from gallery.

Vide are you on a Mac? When I unzipped both of your files on my end they come out with green text for the files names. I just read up on that and it means they are encrypted (and read-only when I check the properties)? I'm guessing some type of Windows<->Mac incompatibility or something? I haven't tried to move them to my phone yet, but I'm guessing it won't allow them to be moved. Any ideas?

yeah i'm at work on a mac, all i did though is download the pictures, zip them and re-upload, didn't change a thing. can you view them? read only doesn't effect moving a file AFAIK

Yeah, they are viewable on the PC, not sure about the phone though. I'd bet it has something to do with the mac zip file or zipping program. Or maybe it is a problem on my end?

try transferring just one to see if it works. if it doesn't i'll figure something else out

I was able to transfer them. It gave me a weird error about how "this device does not support encryption" but it had an option to "install without encryption" or something. It took like a half hour to de-crypt them all and transfer, but it looks like they all got transferred ok. Thanks again for sharing your collection.

Thanks again Freeza! If I could hit that thanks button a hundred times I would. There is alot of good stuff in the folder you shared. I went through and deleted the stuff I didn't like and still had like 1590 images to work with. I know you mass downloaded from a different source so it was not in your control but I really didn't care for the cartoony style stuff and why in the world is there like 15 pictures of seagulls!? Does someone out there in this world really have a special affinity for seagulls? Seagulls are like flying rats! Maybe its just that they are really stupid and easy to photograph.

Does anyone know of an android Launcher that has wallpaper switching/rotating built into it? I think it should be a built in feature just like Live wallpapers are. I've been using WallSwitch but hate having an external app for something that could/should be built in, also their icon and widget are unappealing visually.

Ok, so I got these dowloaded into a Wallpaper folder on my SD card. I can't figure out how to access them. I'mnot given the option to olook at the sd card, only galler, dowloads,e tc.

Help please?

Depending on how you want to access them there are a few ways:

1. From the home screen, (depending on launcher), tap menu>Wallpaper>Gallery>folder you dropped wallpapers into should appear in the gallery list, select one and done.

2. Open the gallery and browse for the wallpaper and set it as your home screen wallpaper by tapping menu once on the one you want.

3. Download and use the "WallSwitch" program in the first post, which has the ability to change your wallpaper automatically at a specified interval (i.e. 5,10,15,30, etc minutes)
