Hey everyone, Im currently on the Rogers Wireless Network and Im do for my upgrade on the 17th of this month. I was excited for my upgrade because I figures Rogers would be carrying the HTC Hero. But I guess that is going to Telus. I currently have the HTC Magic....and I was browsing the Rogers site and seen the new LG EVE. Does anyone know if this phone would be a good upgrade to the HTC Magic?? Is it better or not?

Thanks!

It hardly seems like an upgrade to the magic at all.. Sure it seems to have a nice keyboard but that's all I can think of. Almost seems like a slight downgrade to me(or a huge downgrade if you want to be able to root). There's a reason it's only 50 bucks. The hero on telus would be a slight upgrade to the magic but not enough. I'd definitely wait.

Hey guys.
Just got the Eve myself, and it's pretty bad ass.
Any questions, just give me a shout.
FYI, she's sold out online, so hopefully you've got some retail nearby to check it out !

I just ordered mine from Rogers last night, should have it by the end of the week. Can you clarify what you mean by "bad ass"?

Also, does it feel big in your pocket? It looks pretty thick.
What's the quality of calls and the speakerphone?
Have you had any freezing/lockups?

Thanks.

I am getting conflicting information from various sources, including LG Canada itself.

I use Microsoft Outlook for my email client. Can I sync the Eve with my Outlook contacts, calendar and tasks/memos with the out-of-the-box phone, or do I need 3rd party software, etc.?

LG phone support told me there's software in the box that will allow me to do it, then I got an email from LG sales that says no, you can only sync with Google calendar, and then someone else says yes you can.

Please let me know if you know FOR SURE. This is critical. Thanks!

Outlook is just a client that you open any email account with. If you mean that you have Microsoft Exchange (Outlook Web Access at mail.xxxx.ca), then yes the Rogers LG Eve supports this right out of the box. It has applications called Moxier (Moxier Mail, Calendar, Sync, Tasks, Contacts) which it uses to push-sync with the mail server. It will only allow you to view new messages, but you can see your entire calendar.

I know for sure since I have it set up on mine (Love the phone btw).

hi there,
i just got the phone the other day - can you tell me how to use the speakerphone?
thanks

When you are starting up a call, or in the middle of a call, just select the menu key (the button in the middle) and a menu will come up with 8 tabs. The second to the right on the bottom row is the speaker phone.

This menu button is pretty key for every application, so if you can't find the function you are looking for within an app, always check the menu key.
