Disconnecting Bluetooth

Lately, I have had a lot of issues with my bluetooth headphones (won't start on the countless other issues). Out of no where it will stop working; so I go into my bluetooth settings and the headset says it is still connected.... (not the issue)

The issue is when I try disconnecting then re-connecting, the message "Headset is disconnected" appears and will not go away under any circumstance. It stays there when going back to the home page, putting the phone to sleep and back on, everywhere, even when reconnected!
The only way to get the message to go away is powering off the phone. I have repeated this several times with the same results 100% of the time.


Haven't seen any other post like this, but I was wondering if anyone else has seen this or tested this.

Welcome to the forum! Lots of great folks here to help. You might help us help you with some additional info. Sprint HTC Hero? what software? 1.5 or 2.1? Rooted? etc...

Yes, Sprint HTC Hero, firmware 2.1. (not sure what rooted means, sorry, but it's just stock, out of box)

BT is an issue with the hero on some versions of the BT, what make and model BT do you have, that might help others that have the same one to help you

Haven't seen this before either, as I recall. Have you tried un-paring the devices, then re-pairing them? Totaly delete the bluetooth device from the phone. Also, as a long shot...do you have large threads of text messages? How many apps do you have? Some of these things have been found to slow the phone down. Maybe try clearing your cache in settings, applications, manage apps, then let it load, then go thru ech app, and select clear cache....Don't know if i am on the right track or not...

Only apps I had installed was pandora, handcent, adv task killer, battery widget. Plus the default apps. I always clean my texts up, usually every 100.

The only other thing i can think of is to uninstall task killer...try it without for a few days. There has been much written that they can do more harm then good. Not sure I have seen any issues like you are having related to their use, however.
