Accessories $13 Motorola droidx battery on overstock.com

Uh.... I don't understand what you guys are getting so excited about.
I ordered two brand-new batteries for my X plus a wall charger for them, all for $8.95 on Ebay.
Free Shipping.

They had to come out of Hong Kong and it took a couple of weeks to get them (got them today, actually) but they are OEM and work perfectly.

In fact, I've done this for all of my Blackberry phones and have had nothing but great results.

Can you provide an example listing? Sounds kind of shady :\

despide all the awseome deals you've found. a $40 battery(FRP) for $13.50 is still a great deal.
Although, i do appreciate the ebay tip. always good to be reminded that good deals on ax do exist out there if you just look. i got my HDMI cable from ebay for $5. i was pleased.

Batteries sold on ebay from Hong Kong are generally junk. Can you post a pic of the actual batteries you bought?

Just because they say BH5X on them doesn't make them OEM. I looked also and the second I didn't see Motorola on there, I closed the window. My camera battery is from the same type of deal, but it lasts almost half the time my OEM one does...

This was for a genuine Motorola battery. Those aftermarket (Chinese) batteries on ebay certainly have attractive pricing but as someone has pointed out the genuine batteries are normally $40.

There is at least one thread on here about the ebay batteries.

Yeah, great deal, but definitely cheap knock-offs. The real OEM doens't say "Battery Pack" on the top left. It says Motorola. No go for me.

(Click on OEM, and you won't find anything less than $35 for a real battery!)

Holy crap! We're talking about a battery here, not a computer chip or a machine with moving parts!

Where do you think the OEM batteries come from? I hate to ruin your day, but probably China, Korea, and yes, maybe even Hong Kong.

Honestly, It doesn't matter. I've been using these batteries for years on my various Blackberry phones. ALL of them have performed flawlessly.

You can can get bent up about urban legends about these batteries being terrible, but I am talking about personal real-world experience. They work fine.

If you guys want to spend tons of money on something that doesn't give you anything better, be my guest.

Personally, I think you're being silly.

Knock offs or not, they work - and they come with a nice charger, too.

Hey, if the eBay batteries work for you, great. But, you came into the thead and clearly didn't understand what the big deal was - in fact you stated as such. Then after getting an explanation, you felt the need to take shots at everyone who had an interest in getting in on this good deal on the genuine Motorola battery.

Last time I checked, $13.49 wasn't a ton of money. I can live with spending it on a battery for my $200 phone that I need every day and can't afford to have any unexpected problems with. You can call it being silly, I call it piece of mind.
