when i try to unroot my incredible, it says:
main version is older!
update fail!
Do you want to reboot device?
I downloaded PB31IMG.zip and put it in my sd card and tried to run it in hboot.
Please help
I have downloaded PB31IMG.zip 4 times from different computers/websites. I can't seem to get a working one - they're all corrupted.
Anyone have a working link?
Those files are fine. a standard zip program will not correctly open the file, however the dinc will.
Heck. I just checked the PB image I used just last night. my dinc downgraded, however 7-zip nor windows compressed folders will open the file.

I did use your second video and worked like a charm now back to
stock radio#1.00.03.04.06
firmware# 2.1-update1
I ended up calling Verizon and they had me go and reset my phone number back in the the mid setting and a few others setting and my phone is now working again. They are unable to get me data connection working. So they are sending out a phone, bummer!
I was hoping we would be able to figure out and fix the data. I guess until the other phone arrives I at least can use the phone, no internet or sms/msm
Good luck everyone just want to update and say thx that I was able to return to the stock setting before sending this back.
Cheers,
azbobs
I am currently on rooted 2.1 and want to go back to stock 2.1 so I can install the 2.2 OTA, and also because a lot of this stuff (radio flashing just to upgrade) is way over my head.
Do I have to reactivate the phone after restoring it?
Will this allow me to then install the 2.2 OTA without incident?
I'd you haven't upgraded your radio you just have to put the PB31IMG file on your SD card's root and power up while holding volume down. That's it. Everything will work as it did the day you first turned your phone on. No need to dial *228 our anything else. Then you're free to upgrade to 2.2 OTA
So if I followed Diego's one click root tutorial video and have not updated my radio or not flashed a ROM yet, I will still have to downgrade to download the OTA from Verizon? Will I not receive it?
Correct? Unroot your phone by using the PB31IMG file on the root of your sd card and rebooting into your bootloader (Vol down+Power). That will make your phone stock and ready to receive Verizon's OTA that will hopefully arrive this week (fingers crossed). Once that OTA comes out devs will be releasing ROMs based on it and you can reroot and update your ROM.
Unless VZW throws us a curve ball and decides to include something in that OTA that changes the root process it should be no problem. If they do, I'm sure Unrevoked will get around it once again.
The official Froyo OTA for the EVO did close the exploit used to root that phone. I haven't been following that phone's forums but I don't think there is currently a methond to root for those that accepted the Froyo OTA (though unrevoked forever now allows those that did not already apply the official OTA to recover root).
