Accessories EVO 4G: Extra Battery

I know the battery thing has been asked, and there are plenty of reviews of how to add more time, and whether a larger bettery is better or not.

I'm most familiar with people taking about the mugen and amzer 1800 mah. Has anyone come across these

Just curious. I feel like 3-5 more hours of battery time would be a life saver for me. No clue if these batteries would last longer than the stock, even though they are rated at 1800 mah.

I have one of the seidio, think it's like 1700 or 1750. No diff in size then ori.

It always lasts longer then the other 2 that are 1500.

Read where they don't live up to the ratings, but ea time, it lasts maybe 15 to 20% longer.

I personally love the Seidio 3500Mah , I know its adds weight and width, but it still fits in my jean pocket, as I do computer support type work without issues, I usually stream pandora radio for 5-6 hours to my bluetooth headset and check facebook and a few websites and 10 minutes worth of The Weather Channel and my battery so far has not gone below 60%.

I personally love the Seidio 3500Mah , I know its adds weight and width, but it still fits in my jean pocket, as I do computer support type work without issues, I usually stream pandora radio for 5-6 hours to my bluetooth headset and check facebook and a few websites and 10 minutes worth of The Weather Channel and my battery so far has not gone below 60%.

I have this battery also. its awesome. everyone who is a moderate to heavy user should get it in my opinion.

Bought those batteries and charger from ebay. I don't think they're really 1800mah. They work great, but don't last any longer than the OEM.

Battery boss did a test on these battery's theyre actually like 1300-1400 mah, worse than stock...

I'd so want something between 3500 and 1800 because the 3500 is just gonna throw the size all off... I have to be careful with my usage on 1500... 2000 - 2500 would be my sweet spot... If you have 60% left after a full day's heavy use then it's extra bulk that can be shed off the phone...

You can get the same thing as that Amazon deal from ebay for $10 - $12. There are hundreds of us who have gotten the chinese batteries and had no issues at all.

FTR, if you want to get to the optimum life out of any battery, you need to charge it externally. The evo is a big fat fail at this. What I did was buy an 1800ma battery that came with an external charger for 11 bucks then the 3000ma battery and car charger for 15, so now what i do is use the 3K one during the day, swap in the 1.8K before sleep and put the 3K in the charger, then reverse in the morning. Takes seconds and will let you get the most out of them for under 30 bucks.

Does the 3000 work with the OEM battery cover or do you need to use an extended back?

Honestly, if it didn't give me 200% power, that is WAY too much work for a smidget of battery life... Of course I know I'm being overly dramatic here, but to have a ritual is a bit overboard especially with a 3000 mah battery... You actually run out of juice? I'd reckon I get around 3 hours of battery life non-stop and thats 6 on a 3000mah... I don't know if I can squeeze the battery life out if I tried...

no you dont come close to running out of juice, but the best way to charge up any battery is externally and NOT in the Evo. See my testimonial on page 3 of the 3000ma thread on accessories. I rocked over 8 hours of usage with 4g, gps, gtalk and background sync on without dropping below 50%. It is far from a smidgen.

That's the thing, I mean if you don't come near running out of juice, why even bother babying the battery?

I mean personally, I don't see myself using the phone more than 4 - 5 hours a day, and most of those times I TRY to use it to play games and such or out with the family doing boring stuff haha...

If the phone in a day's use never drops below 50%, I'd rather trim the size down to keep the slenderness and options for cases open (I don't think I'll ever get a case anyways)...

I think though, if no option for a stock sized true 2000mah comes out, I might have to bite the bullet and get the 3500mah... Didn't see the 3000mah yet but that might be the way to go if the cover is a bit smaller...

I use the EVO out of the box and charge it with USB and get GREAT battery life. You don't need to root it just slow charge it.

If it took a few seconds to replace the battery in my car got me extra mileage I'd say it's too much... No, not because it's hard work, but it really shouldn't even come down to that to get a reasonable amount of daily use out of it...

To be fair, the EVO gets me about 3 hours of continual use with about 13 hours of up time... Which usually does get me through the day, so the EVO even though it isn't up to par to the high expectations of some does do what I would say most people would expect it to...

What my point is, is why do you have to change a battery daily if you are only using 1/2 of it at max daily? Lith Ion batteries are best left at 40% charge, and they wear out quicker if left at full charge... My other point is, I'd rather get a single 3000mah (2500 perfered) battery than to switch out 2 1500s...

i got the cheap batteries off ebay.. they work fine... last just like the stock battery..

i got 2 chargers and 4 batteries for less then $20 shipped... it came from hong kong took more then a week.. one charger didnt work the guy is sending another.. super impressed with the cheap batteries.. would i pay double the price for the 1800 over the 1500.. NO!.

I actually thing this is right on. I just swapped to my OEM yesterday morning. My phone is still at 33%, even with regular use throughout the day yesterday.
