Sports Armband for Nexus One

Hey all,

I've been looking for quite some time now and I can't find a single sports arm band for running / exercising with my Nexus one. I primarily want it for track recording my runs and charting progress.

I've seen a couple of people have some success with iPhone cases but I'd really like to see a Nexus One specific one with all the holes in the right places!

Thanks in advance for any advice from any of the more active N1 users out there! :D

Damn...so I guess I'd have to make due with my ipod case :( You'd think after 4 months...a company would have made a Nexus case for those that exercise or do sports :/

@ Rusty: I can't seem to see your avatar o_O

You would not believe this, but there are some out there that are making "Nexus Armband Cases" which are just iPod/iPhone ones relabeled to say Nexus One... :( (Check eBay)

Sucks, but that is the way it is...

Neither can I ;)

It should be this:

But for some reason it refuses to show up, and I can't be arsed to find/create another one.

For what it's worth I use Amazon.com: iArmBands ArmBand / Arm Band for Google Nexus One & HTC T-Mobile G1 Android gPhones / google phone: Electronics. Its badging is iPod-reminiscent but it holds the phone reasonably well and the touch-screen works well enough while still in the holder. My only annoyance is that the hole for the headphone jack doesn't quite line up with the actual jack, so you have to stretch the material a bit to plug it in.

A significant win for this use case is also the premium version of MixZing, which has a lock-screen widget that lets you control basic functions of the music player without bothering to unlock the phone, FWIW. Happy running!

Amazon.com: NEW!! Tuneband for Nexus One Google Phone, Grantwood Technology's Armband and Silicone Skin and Screen Protector, Black: Electronics

This looks like the most promising of them so far; I may actually get this since it's a cheap experiment; as of right now I'm still using my old ipod nano, but would love to have pandora or sirius on my phone at the gym.

Oh Sweet! That's the best N1 armband I've seen yet (not that I've seen many)! And the price is great too, not expensive at all! My hat off to you mate :D

If you get it let us know how it is. I would like to know if the band, when it passes through the case, rubs against the phone? I would be worried about rub marks on the back if it did. Good find.

Ill let ya know; still deciding about Granttechnologies..no reviews yet. Also I have a Zagg skin on my phone so it wouldn't be an issue (it does appear the band may touch the phone in the pics).

I recommend the Grantwood Tuneband, link is up there on the thread.

Oh! You got in cigar3tte? How is it? Would you be able to answer Mostly's question below? lol

The passthrough touches the phone, but I wouldn't say it "rubs" it. The phone stays in its position, so there's no rubbing other than when you're adjusting the phone's position on the band. The surface on that part is soft anyways, it won't do anything to N1's cover.

The only thing I'd worry about with this armband is the phone falling out during hard sprints. I haven't gotten the balls to try it yet. It's already done fine for jogging.

OK :D Thanks, another question! :) How's the speaker volume when your Nexus is in the case? Does the case muffle the sound or does the sound get muffle as the speaker faces your arm. I like running with the speaker on XD
