Well I have a life choice to make so I figured I would consult my fellow android owners!
Choice one: live an average life make decent money and have a pretty wife and kids and drive a ford to your office everyday. Probably make 60,000 to 100,000 a year

Choice two: live a above average life make 90,000 to 150,000 a year be single , drive a shiny new BMW M3 to your pharmaceuticals job everyday.

YOU choose your fake destiny/my future (well maybe haha). Go!

I agree with scooby.

Why not have wife and kids and still make the money? :)

To me: Career first. I'm taking over my dad's business and improving it a LOT with my knowledge and skills. It's already doing very well so I can just build on it. Bring in a much higher cash flow while also dedicating more of my own money for improvements.

After that's settled, save up money for a very environmentally and technologically advanced house, Lexus hybrid car, traveling, future education, and such. While doing this, perhaps look for a partner.

Sounds like your really not ready to settle down and get married. Take choice two, in 5-10 years you'll be more financially secure and you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Well I'm only 17 but I live in a wealthy area and after visiting my aunt (who's an anesthesiologist) and seeing the bentley parked next to a Benz next door my focus shifted a little and I realized one thing: those people are set for life, they go to the grocery store and if they left their coupons at home who gives a shit, if their cousin gets a rare disease that insurance won't cover they can pay it up front, if computer breaks they can buy a new one without blinking. I wouldn't say I'm wealthy but pretty well set as far as my dads employment is it's flourishing. I'll marry for sure but I'm just weighing the options right now and considering the job paths that I can do that will get me some good cash flow. Never do I want to worry about paying bills and if possible I would like to comfortably buy that M3 :D.
Choice 2. Try and get an M5, the M3 is generally driven by cocks.

Haha if I have the money I'll buy an M5, however for like 15,000 usd less I can still be cool in my M3. Every middle aged man ive seen in an M5 is usually riding my ass in the fast lane while talking on his iPhone.

Don't be fooled by appearances. Just because someone has nice things it doesn't mean they can actually afford it. I was at 7-11/gas station today, the lady in front of me bought $5 worth of gas to put in her Escalade (it was obvious she couldn't afford more).

My uncle drives one...nothing special, I ended up being dazed by numerous Mercedes and BMWs and Audis in the neighborhood.

I always like the coupes more than sedans. I rarely have other passengers in my car, so I like to go for the coupe since it's smaller. I like having an Infiniti or Lexus rather than a BMW or Mercedes because there are SO MANY BMWs and MBs on the road.

I too started my family young (or so people say it wasn't that unheard of in the 80's) at 21. Now have two and I am married for two years and together for 5 before that. I was brought up having 3 brothers so a medium sized family isn't unsual but we were always brought up to believe in family values. (Vague term I know as these vary from one family to another lol)

Not only that but on tap intimacy is nothing to sniff at :D

I would rather live paycheck to paycheck for the rest of my life and have a family than have lots of money and be alone.

There is a middle ground though. My wife and I aren't rich but at the same time we are financially stable and have plenty of money in our savings account. I completely agree with mpw that you really cant make a decision like this at 17. The things you value will probably change a lot in the next 10 years.

Not to sound like a dweeb, but on your death bed if all you will miss - and the only people to miss you are your clients and BMW dealership... I think you've lived a fairly shallow life.

I disagree. I'm only 25 so I don't have a true path yet.

But I still think that is pure hog wash.

You don't need to have a wife and kids to have a meaningful life. Don't let them suck you into their misery ;)

Maybe. Buy unless a person does something epic or something terrible then nobody is going to care or notice when a person dies, except the family.
