Whats the deal with VZW not pimping the dInc?

well part of the problem they are not pimping this phone is it is outdated now its not new. its only new for 15 minutes until the next new thing is set to release. Thats how technology is. The only time its new is when it is introduced just like computers. so the best thing to do is pick what you want for features and reliability and go from there. I did that on my last laptop purchase bought the biggest baddest feature crammed laptop I could find and afford and now will be set for a few years.

I find it quite useful. I had a couple of friends with iphone comment on how they wish they had an optical joystick. Makes it easy to go to certain spots in a text to make corrections.

holy shit...

Honestly I just went 2 months wishing there was an easier was to correct text messages. I used the optical thing once in a game and it sucked.. horribly. since then I just ignored it.

I agree, with the cost of the dInc and Android making noise, they really should be pushing this more. Especially with Froyo coming out, it really is a great phone.

I'm an Apple guy, always have been pro-Apple. COMPUTERS. I'm not blindly going to buy a phone just because it's Apple, and I've been getting crap for that. Android is really a better OS, and the features are better.

Example: many of my friends have iPhones, and I actually spent some time on one for the first time tonight. Lots of similarities with the touch screen and scrolling, but it is not well put together intuitively. Maybe because I'm comfortable with my phone and it seemed foriegn, I get that, but it just seemed organized in a way I didn't like.

It did have one thing I thought was cool, and they have 'folders' for the different home screens, to organize the apps. Other than that, I did my research for a long time before making my choice, and while being an Apple guy, the Android incredible was a better choice.

>they have 'folders' for the different home screens, to organize the apps.<

The Inc also has "folders", just tap the "+" on the home screen, choose "Folder" and then pick one you like. It will be placed on your home screen where you can drag and drop into it. Also there are more than a few apps in the Market that supply customized "folders".

I like the trackball, but mine is a little hard to control--wonder if something's wrong. I wish just tapping the screen where you wanted the cursor to go was more accurate.

seems like Vz favors the Moto products. likes where's our updates for battery life and call quality that have been talked about for weeks??

My son has the X and I don't see many disadvantages to it. If my 30 day trial didn't end when I was away, I probably would have traded. Same old, same old. I got the Versa, then a few weeks later they came out w/ the enV touch.

I wasn't joking. I really did use it once in a game and thought "how useless"..
And in my texts I have been tapping like crazy trying to get the curser in the right spot to edit

Ah, didn't know what that meant regarding 'folders'. Sweet! Again, like a brand new phone all over again. :)

I had that problem too at first, then I accidentially found the optical joystick trick. However, since I went to swype the joystick is now only used to wake my phone.

verizon isn't going to market a phone that is probably towards the end of its production and which they don't get big bucks from HTC to advertise.

Motorola pays verizon millions upon millions upon millions to push the X and eventually D2. HTC doesnt work like that and they are more proud of the EVO than the Inc.

Why push a 3G phone when you have the only 4G.

Right now the Incredible is showing a 1 day "backorder" and the X is showing a 2 week backorder.

So, I don't believe you are correct.

There was a lot of commercials before the shortage, but they were pulled since they were out of stock. Makes no sense to advertise something that is out of stock.

The one day back order is VERY recent. Only in the last two weeks have they been more really available ...which is too late for them to resume advertising, especially that the Droid x and Droid 2 are now here. By the way, the X is what helped alleviate supply issues with the incredible .

how do you make it wake your phone??

BTW isnt it funny we are all pro's and yet the simplest things slip past us? LOL!

You have to be rooted to apply the zip. Works, but you have to longpress for a sec or two.

Glad I could help some of you out.

^^ What Hookem said, or you could use lockbot if you aren't rooted. It will also allow the joystick to wake the phone, in addition to the volume rocker.
