Anyone have problems with scratches on screen?

no scratches on my screen. I carry it in my left-front pocket all the time, with nothing else in the pocket. Make sure you don't have little bits of sand or anything like that, especially in jeans, when the pocket is a tighter fit with the phone.

I also face the glass side to my leg, where i know it can't come into contact with anything hard.

I have the exact same problem and I also store the phone in my pocket, face in without anything else. I noticed a scratch on my screen and I have no idea how it got there. I can only see it in certain lights but I don't know what caused it. I'm wondering if it was there when I bought the phone and I just didn't notice it. In no way does it affect the screen when it is on, but it is a bit disappointing that it may have gotten scratched so easily if I actually did it.

I have had invisibleshield since day one on 3 phones that covers all but the extreme edges of the glass. Step son has sonething else that covers only the lighted portion. He is on his 2nd protector and it already looks like he will need a thrird.

I have 2 scratches I hope are only on my protector where I put phone in pocket with lighter by accident. Happened that one time in a matter of seconds.

I think a lot of people on here prefer something else to InvisibleShield. I have had no problems. If you have store install, make sure they use same type of chemical that comes with the screen protector. On one phone, BB said they were going to use their spray, which was supposed to be better. It's on there good, but has a rainbow color to it now. :/ and doesnt feel as smooth.

Sucks they can't figure out a way to design these phones without having to use all these protectors.

It's not about HTC, its about how everyone utilizes their phone. No material they can put on a phone will protect it 100%. HTC cannot design a phone that can withstand the abuse some people phones must endure every single day. I still don't understand how people walk around without a case on a $500 phone.

I bet if you placed our phones side by side people would pick my device as the newest phone. I've had my phone since launch day and I always use a case and a screen protector.

Well in that case maybe i'll take some pictures.

EDIT: Well here's some pics I tried to take. Sorry about the dust problem, this camera picks it up so dam well you barely see it with the eye. BTW I work in retail, so there's always dust, dirt, etc. Use my Evo quite a bit during work as well, as I usually bank every or so hour on the web.

I keep getting these small scratches on my screen. Kinda seems like small cracks, but if i run my fingernail through it i can feel an indention. They keep popping up. I now have 5 of them. I always put my phone in my pocket by itself. Just dont understand.

There are cheap screen protectors that your phone store will install for you. Let them do it. Getting the bubbles out is a pain.

The phone is already huge, not everyone wants to make it even bigger and unattractive by adding a case. If you take care of the phone wthin reason, you shouldn't get scratches. My last phone went 13 months without a single scratch despite having no screen protector or case. Then i left it on my car and it fell off going 50mph, so it had a couple scratches on the screen. So far, my evo's screen still looks new and i doubt it'll get all scratched up.

Heres my theory , 1. I don't use a case , makes the phone feel to big , I have 3 just don't like them , 2. The phone looks sexy without a case , why make it ugly with a balky case , 3. If I break, loose , step on , or drop in the toilet its only gona cost $100.00 for a new one because of my protection plan , so that's why I carry a $500 phone with no case , u spend $30 on a case , $30 on invisasheild $15 for them to install it , so for $25 more bucks if I damage it in any way I just get a brand new phone , ! That's my logic

Its because some people don't have time to wait on a new phone to come in the mail. Some people can't wait 1-2 days for a phone or on a mailman to drop off your new phone.

Never without a screen protector. Screen is to big and easy to damage.

I never used a screen protector with my Instinct and after 2 years it was showing a lot of wear. I recieved some free screen protectors with some batteries and a cradle I bought for my EVO on eBay.

After royaly screwing up the first install by installing in a dusty area, I got the 2nd protector installed flawlessly and I love it! Looks invisible and feels good. When/if this screen protector wears out I will definatly put another one on.

The EVO has too much screen estate to not protect it.

Scratches don't worry me. I expect to get some during the 2-3year lifespan of my phone. My concern is that I've heard people dropping their phone at about waist level, and their screen shattered.

Here's my dilemma. The only type of bumper that would actually absorb enough shock is a thick, rubbery kind, like the soft silicone one that Sprint sells. I bought that, and I found that it makes the phone big and also hard to pull out of my pocket. The material is way too grippy and clings to the fabric of my pocket as I try to tug it out.

If I go with a hard, thin cover, it can protect against scratches, but no way will it absorb enough shock to protect the glass from shattering.

So I've decided that I'm just going to try to be extra careful not to drop the phone. I kinda wish the phone edges/back were made out of a more grippy material.

The Seidio cases are extremely thin and I LOVE the white one. Easily goes on and I think you would have to drop it from a building to make the case pop apart. If I dropped my phone I highly doubt I will see any breakage. I did some survival training in the woods with my EVO. I had my case and holster on the phone, both from Seidio. The holster protects the screen so I never leave the house without it. If the EVO hits the ground, the ground will get a bunch of Seidio Innocase and holster. The holster and case should absorb the impact.

Funny thing is that I know where my EVO is all the time. Kind of hard to lose the phone and because of the weight of the phone it easily stays in my hand.

I've already had a few close calls where I fumbled my phone a bit but recovered. Yeah, thin case that can absorb impact. I'll check it out.
