I emailed rovio.com, their reply suggested that it should be on the Android platform by no later than mid august, which it nearly is, it'll be here in that case within the next 3 or 4 days at the latest, if you believe them that is, personally I think it'll arrive later, like whenever! Take a random guess, and add a month, prob be about right! Here's to hoping anyway! Be nice if it wad before the weekend!

I've been addicted to this game since my gf received her iPhone...it's probably one of the very few things that makes me jealous of her phone
Decided to contact Rovio (developers of AB) and received this message from Matt Wilson this morning:
Hi Jubby,
Thanks for getting in touch. We are still doing testing of Angry Birds on Android devices but we hope to get the game released before the end of August.

I like!
They are working on it and professionelly!
It takes a lot of courage to keep on testing the game on every android phone out there.
They want to deliver a beautiful BUG FREE game which I find better then delivering a game full of bugs which needs lots of update to get rid of them.
Yeah... just wish they realized they would need to do that before saying "no later than mid August." Don't get your hopes up for the end of August either. Usually when someone say "we'll try to have it out by X time" it's just to make people shut up and stop asking questions.
jim i figured its going to be a paid one, but currently when i go into the market, i can only see free apps, the paid ones r only available in the states i think do you think there is a way i can get it online (by buying it) and then transferring it to my desire?

Very true - funny how it is always about a fortnight in the future as well. It is a tad irritating when devs (large and small) take people for utter idiots, shows a distinct lack of respect or care.

On my Motorola i1 i have to hit the options button (the one with 4 dots) then go to change view, and go to payed apps only. mine always starts off at free apps only. or if you custom search it should show you paid apps as well. i think it should work no matter where because a Plastic card is a plastic card no matter where you are in the world. hehe

I just ran across this article. It states in the second to last paragraph that the Android version of Angry Birds could be hitting the Android Market in the next two weeks. Not sure what to really take away from this but if it happens how cool would that be?!?! The date on the article is Wednesday, August 18.
There is going to b an explosion of game apps by the end of the year, since 2.2 will be more common and app space will be covered by the sd card for devices with low internal storage (X and some Galaxy versions have no app space shortage).
There's a reason they are porting it to the Pre first. From what I've read it takes almost nothing to for an iPhone app to be ported to the Pre. It really doesn't require any work and if that's the case why not and make a couple bucks. Hopefully it won't be too long until it's available on Android.
