Yesterday verizon sent me a replacement Eris. I am already having problems with it hardware and software. The hardware problem is my speaker rattles and I can barely hear anyone while talking on the phone and the software issue is my phone when it rangs will go to a black screen and I wont be able to answer the call.

When I talked to the lady on the phone the first time she told me if my replacement were defective they would swap it out with the Moto Droid which I was happy about. So I call today and tell them the issues and the new lady I talked to said that the swapping of devices was not noted on my account and I now have yet another Eris being sent to me in the mail!

The new lady I talked to though assures me that its noted on the account this time that if this Eris messes up or is defective they will send me a Moto Droid. Im so mad that verizon can not do one thing correctly! Its infuriating.

Honestly, I'd just be happy that you'll get a Droid next, if you get another Eris that fails. That seems reasonable to me - two replacements that fail allows an upgrade to another device.

Yes and I am happy that I am going to get a droid but it was supposed to be this time. Whos to say that when I call back they are going to tell me its not noted on my account and they will have to send me another Eris cuz that policy??

I just do not want to be jacked around by all these different verizon reps after ever broken Eris.

When I call any Cs department I allways get the representatives, Name, location, and the case number for my phone call so I have it if there is a problem....and when the tech you have isn't able to help ask for their supervisor, ask for the supervisors supervisor etc

See I should have did that, but I figured Verizon would have actually kept their word but I was wrong.

Get over it. You bought a Eris, you didn't shell out for a Droid, guess you are going to have to live with your choice.

Racer this isnt a flame thread on me so please do not. Im sure a mod will tell you the same thing. I realize what I paid for, but for the Replacement phone to be broken the day I get it is a little ridiculous. So please dont flame me on my own thread thanks.

Not flaming here, just pointing out that your post comes off as a bit disingenuous given the tone of your previous posts. Now, if you had been complaining that your replacement phone arrived with issues and that you need to have it replaced again, I would understand, but according to your post, you're upset because you're not getting the Droid that you were promised.

I would be, too. A promise is a promise.

I have to admit that I'd be surprised if a Droid were offered to me upon complaining about my Eris, but if that's what the rep told me over the phone, I'd be expecting exactly what he or she told me, not something else.

..the Moto Droid and LG Ally are the phones verizon are offering to replace your device if you have had the required amount of replacement Erises.

I've seen that posted many times now.. it seems that Verizon has had quite a number of those issues you mention in your OP, and the refurbs are in many cases no better than the phone in need of replacement (that would really make me mad).

I've had the same problems with T-moblie when I bought the sidekick 2008 just like the eris it wasn't the newest phone. I went threw 3 of them in a matter of a month. I went back and fourth with them trying to get the G1 they kept saying you need to get one more 08. Then when I did they still wouldn't give me G1 they said it cost to much so I had to get a blackberry pearl flip which I hated. Sounds like to me the reps are telling you what you want to hear by saying we will replace your eris with a droid just to get you to shut up and not actually give it to you. I had to pay $100 each replacement goes to show you all they want is your money they don't care about sending out f'ed up phones!

Yes it is making me mad, but what really made me mad was when Verizon didnt hold the promise because now they are overnighting a new replacement
Eris to me which will prob have problems like the previous ones. Who knows though it make actually work, but i wont hold my breath lol.

Be sure to post back about it.

Perhaps you'll root. ;)

If you think "Verizon sucks", why are you continuing to spend money with them? Pay the ETF and GTFO. It's that simple. Paying for something that you think sucks is not good.

That would probably be the dumbest thing to do. Just because verizon has horrible customer service doesnt mean I want to leave the biggest wireless company with the best coverage. Also why would I pay the hundreds of dollars to leave to start a new contract somewhere else and pay hundreds of dollars?

Maybe this is what you would do, but I am not you. Thanks though.

Never the less, you're going to get ragged on a bit by users seeing your topic title, with , and OP rant making it sound as if Verizon.. well, as if Verizon sucks, which it does for some users and not for others.

Verizon seems just like any other carrier at the point of customer contact, in-store or over the phone, to me; it's just blokes and gals at work dealing with customers as best they can depending on their mood and the mood of the customer at hand.

And you're right about the coverage, at least in my operating area. ;)

I kinda can agree a bit with the OP and everyone else saying just suck it in. It was shitty of that rep to promise you something that they probably had no authority to promise you and yes, Verizon can suck. But pretty much every company out there does. Some just suck less. And I don't like my Dell I got 3 years ago and sometimes it does weird and unexplainable things but I can't rightly call up Dell and ask for a replacement or a upgrade....or even an Apple! The way I see it you bought your phone knowing that you have 90 days to figure out whether you like it or not. And if you find you don't like it after that 90 days then tough. Maybe you will make a wiser decision next time. But I agree it is a pisser and I see why you feel you need to rant. Hope it ends up okay for you.

I am on my forth eris. After my first one broke, they then sent me 2 defective replacements phones. #2 phone was all scratched and #3 the camera was broken. Now I had problems with #4 holding a charge and constantly re-syncing for days. I told them I was done with the eris and wanted a non-eris replacement. I spoke to manager upon manager and they said no can do because you purchased the insurance and you are required to get another eris. Good luck, you are just on phone #3.
