Can't sync Gmail(contact+calendar)

My hero can't sync Gmail account.

After I sync calendar+contact I login to gmail account to see the result
But nothing happen.
Contact+calendar still empty



the error on Hero is "Sync is currently experiencing problem.It will be back shortly"

help me please

I had the same problem when I got the phone Here is what I did
I am not sure which part of this fixed the problem
Make sure your not in airplane mode and your mobile network is turned on
under wireless controlls ( the icon next to the signal bars ev or 1x needs to be there)
Then under data synchronization google turn on all options
I also did a prl and profile update shut the phone down pulled the battery for a couple minuets and then reboot and my problem was solved
I am an x blackberry user thats why I pulled the battery and rebooted you may not have to do that
