I am not tech savvy at all and I just pulled this off! I rooted and installed Fresh 2.3.3. I've read that you need to change the "kernel" but dont how to do this. I've searched and read and am only getting more confused.

I found this thread [KERNEL][7/22/10]Darchstar's Overclocked Undervolted kernel for senseUI roms vUV 2 - xda-developers but its not making sense either. Also read about SetCPU to increase speed. Can someone please post up links and explanations? I need help!! thank you in advance!

If you want to overclock, just download the module remover zip and one of the kernels for fresh from that thread (the ones without mem tweaks work best). These are all flashed through recovery the same way as you flashed the ron but with no wipes. Just flash the module remover then your kernel then reboot, don't forget to nandroid first.

Ok, so I flashed the MODULE REMOVER zip, then I flashed the DARCHKERNELv4 768mhz. I don't know why I would choose 768 or 710, i have no idea what either mean.

So what did I just do? SHould the phone work a lot faster? And what is "overclocking", how do I accomplish it, and what are the benefits of overclocking?

The higher the number (768mhz is the highest) the faster it will run. Once you've installed that kernel you are officially overclocked. To confirm this, download system panel from the market and once you open the app you will we that your cpu clock speed can scale all the way up to 768 instead of the stock 528.

If you want an extra boost, jit is the way to go. Although jit does not like to run on sense ui that is oc'ed over 691, anything above ends up in random reboots. So jit with clocked at 691 fairly stable. I would post a link if I could, but I'm at work right now and I'm limited on what I can do on this computer. Check out XDA, you should find it there.

P.S. I prefer OC widget than setcpu, but it's your choice.
