Here's a link that'll get you the new Trillian for Android Beta. If you have multiple IM accounts, I would definitely recommend that you give this a try (the new Trillian for PC also works well).

Trillian Beta Released for Android, Is Already the Best IM Client Out There

Moderators - I know this may not be the right forum, but I'm sure there are many like me who probably just check the Incredible section.

I was so excited when I saw this on my news feed on Facebook when I got home not too long ago. I downloaded it right away and so far am liking it. I tested ebuddy and hated it. Never bothered with Meebo.
Trillian has been my choice since 05 with 3.1. Actually, I think my desktop still has 3.1 on it as I haven't used it since 07. Laptop is running 5.0 beta.

Sleeping confirmed on my phone as well. Still able to receive messages while phone is asleep.

no you are not. Your phone may sleep, but it's set to wake and poll at certain intervals, that's the only way it would get messages.

why is no one giving any detailed info about this app. We all know about trillian for PC, but this isn't about trillian for PC.

I'm not sure exactly what technology they're using but when I close the app I still get notifications. And in 8h of usage it used only a few seconds of CPU so it's not polling for new IM's

Do some more extensive testing. If I "back out" of the program I'll receive IMs for a minute or two. But 2 test IMs i sent a little later never arrived in the hour I waited.

So I'm new to the Android world. I've never downloaded anything not available on the Android market. Are things like this safe to download and will this auto update like the apps I have from the market do?

Trillian is a respected developer so this one is definitely safe. The beta will expire when the app is officially released on the market, at which posit you can uninstall it and install the market version. You might even be able to update from the beta to the market version
