To the ones debating on updating because your lazy and/or it takes to long, Well i cant help the lazyiness out BUT, it doesnt take long to update the phone and get it back to where you were.

I came from a BBStorm and you want to talk about taking awhile, it was atleast a good hour. Updating the incredible is under 15 minutes!!

>>Differences from last tweaked version (Second wave):
Hopefully fixed Froyo market install bug where it tries to put crap on sd card by default.<<

Adrynalyne I am on the 8_1 new leak rom and I have it setup just the way I want it, but is there anyway I could get thix fix for the market as a side patch for my current rom?

i've noticed when viewing web pages with white backgrounds, that the screen will slowly dim and then brighten, and then dim, etc...

would that have somthing to do with thirdwave, or perhaps the hydra kernel i installed? i'm using the 1st one on his list.

thanks

you have your screen set to automatic brightness-- personally, i use 100% because the amoled is pretty easy on power to begin with. it doesn't look good to me at all set anywhere below 75% static bright.

Hi Guys,

Tried doing some searching but couldn't find a real solution and I'm not sure if Third Wave has anything to do with it and would appreciate some help:

I'm able to install roms through recovery, but when trying to use Rom Manager from inside Android and rebooting, I always end up at the "Triangle with Exclamation" mark icon. Pushing the power button and looking at the error shows:

Seek failed in /cache/update.zip... (invalid argument)

Then the signature verification fails and the program just stops.

Any clues?

Thats because you have cleared cache and Rom Manager has no fake flash to use. "Reflashing" clockwork via rom manager will fix that. Or should.

The stock one. If you must, I like King's kernel. A LOT.

A couple questions please, adrynalyne:

1. I notice you posted a kernel today that has USB tether (I prefer that to hot temp running wireless). Is this another option, or do you prefer King's #2 kernel version?

2. Which rom of your's do you suggest? I prefer Sense, so will choose one with that. The key is whatever I use I do not want to lose any current functions (internal memory map, LED notifications, etc).

3. What rom and kernel works best with the 2.15 radio? I guess to install the 2.15 radio, I need Unrevoked Forever flashed first.

4. After rooting, nandroid backup, Titanium backup, Unrevoked Forever and 2.15 radio, can I flash the King #2 kernel next and then use Rom manager for everything else, or, are the kernels also in Rom manager?

I have Unrevoked3 installed to the computer and all files needed, but waiting for your suggestions. Still not looking forward to setting everything up again, but that is the price for root.

Re 1:
I also made a modified version of his kernel with this feature. I just wanted to throw out a stock kernel in the wild with a somewhat sought after feature. I am not afan of overclocking really. Not enough advantages.

Re 2:
Third wave. Or if you like Evo themes (I do), Frankenrom. I will try and have b6 out before Monday.

Re 3:
Anything Froyo. 2.1, not as well.

Re 4:
If you have premium rom manager, it will give you access to extra things, like kernels (if the dev has put them there).

Thanks for the response buddy! I am just glad maps seems to work. I will update more on battery life...any tips for me? are you running a different kernel?

I'm running 3rd Wave with the latest radio and S-OFF. I'm also using Unrevoked.

I did a wipe before installing also. Basically, nothing special. I went from barely getting though the day to having at least 50% when I plug in at bedtime.

I have everything running except Bluetooth.

I have auto-dim disabled.

I'm at 156 hours with about 26hours awake time.
