Help updated to 2.2 droid is slow, shorter batt life, long home load times

ok everyone, im looking for a little insight with my problem, i have a motorola droid and just went from 2.1 to 2.2 and recieved about 18 market updates, which was a little absurd.... but anyway, my youtube hardly ever connects (not that big of a deal), but when i go and send a text then hit the home button my background shows for around 7-15 seconds before icons start to show up, thats my main issue.

other then that my battery usually lasts all day from 630am to midnight and im at 60-80% battery, i got up at 10am today, got the update around 11am (batt still at 100%) and at midnight when i tossed it on the charger it was at 30%..... the battery went down way too fast, and ive heard a few things about the facebook app and yes i do have one, is that the problem?

and im also on my second droid and i had to fight for a new one and not a refurb, but my battery level will jump from 90% to 5% for no reason, and my battery widget shows its still at 3900 to 4100mv, so idk whats exactly going on
 
1.root your droid.
2.if you don't root your droid you limit yourself to only 30% of what the droid can actually do.
3.yes you void your warranty, but under the new verizon warranties you void your warranty if theres a scratch or a nick. also here where i live if you go into a verizon store the sales personal who have droids have their droids rooted. so they tell you not to do it, but all of them have theirs rooted. hmmm wonder why?
4.have you seen the specs to the new droid 2 yet? guess what its the exact same phone. only difference is some added ram. cpu is the same, except droid is underclocked to 550-600ghz, and droid 2 is overclocked to 1.0ghz. guess what, i run my droid 1 at 1.2 ghz and i blow the droid 2, droid x, and the incredible out of the water. root your droid. so many people get these phones not understanding what they can truely do.

My phone was great before the reset so I'm not going to root it. After the reset, it now is so slow I've virtually stopped using it. Everything is about a third the speed it was before. It takes 8 seconds for icons to show on the screen no matter what I do, and it takes forever to switch between apps. All I want is it to work like it did before the update. Motorola was of no help.

How to hard reset the Motorola DROID - Know Your Cell

Check Privacy Settings: Back Up My Data and Automatically Restore prior to doing and you will have all of your apps automatically download once you re-activate your phone and set up Google again.

You will loose texts and phone call history, but I've heard that there is an app that will back up texts. Anything on your SD card will not be touched.

My factory reset fixed all my lagginess issues and seemed to improve battery life as well.

yea i completely agree.. however i didn't know it was possible to root 2.2 - how did you do it?

ok so if i Root my phone it will void my warranty. Is there way to unroot and will that get the warranty back.
verizon isnt telling alot of people this, but they recently revised their warranty. if your phone has nicks or scratches, you know normal ware and tear you void your warranty. if you use off market items such as apps, batteries, or phone protectors you void your warranty. everything you use for your phone has to be from verizon. lol, what a joke. who doesnt get off market phone protectors? the verizon protectors are boring and lame. who doesnt have normal ware and tear after 6 months? and everyone should know by now that verizons screen protectors are a joke. the best screen protectors are "invisible shield" best buy has them, and they put it on for you, and you only need 1 thats it. lifetime warranty. $30. and your done. so with all of these little changes i guess they dont want to acknowledge anyones warranty anyway. root your phone. you will unleash a whole new device.

please read carefully guys. this is all revised. your warranty plans have changed and they informed no one. if it hasn't happend to you yet then you are one of the lucky ones. i've seen this argument 1 too many times in the last few weeks in the verizon store. you should check with the verizon techs, and not the salesperson. i'll check again also maybe they rethought this. i'll keep my fingers crossed.
