Voicemails sound terrible! Anyone else?

That's a good description...thin, static-type distortion, and a complete lack of low and mid-range frequencies. Almost high-pitched. Every single message. It almost sounds like listening to an old FM radio that barely comes in and has no bass whatsoever. Unlike my Instinct, on which messages sounded fantastic every time.

Any ideas?

im running VN.5.0.0.32. confirm? i did do the update also. i have not had any calls/voicemails but the setup ladys voice sounded a little tiny...

I concede the voicemails are little tinny but it's nothing I didn't expect considering the interface. It's not the same as listening to your VM over a phone call and I suspect they encode them with low bitrate and in mono in order to provide the stream in a consistently good manner. This would, of course, make them tinny. I don't have a volume or static problem and most people wouldn't ever think to notice the tinny sound until it was mentioned. Being a codec nerd I now have to go see if there is documentation on this anywhere...

Is anyone else still having this problem 6 weeks later? My voicemails are horrible in quality. Right now my VM version is 5.0.0.36 and when I try to upgrade I get "General Failure. Please try again at a later time" right away.

Are you sure the version is .36? I have VN.5.0.0.32 and when I check for an upgrade it says none is available.

See this thread

and look at the last issue. You need to allow installations from unknown sources to update this app.

I can confirm that I have the .36 version. I am getting my version from voicemail > settings > Last Line

I also figured out that general failure issue. I had to shutoff wi-fi in order to check for an upgrade.
