Google Voice Invite

The latest version in the market for GV does not use the same access number each time. In order to get free outgoing calls something like Google Voice Callback FREE - Android app on AppBrain has to be used.

Maybe I haven't been paying enough attention, but I do know that it (at least used to) use(s) the same access number for about a month or two then changes. If this is no longer true, then I guess I have not been getting free outgoing calls.

One other thing I thought of is that if you call your own number from the phone that is registered to your GV number, you can select the option (two I think) to make a call. This would allow you to use the F&F feature to get free calls.

Google changed the way outgoing calls are made, I don't recall the specifics but supposedly the static access numbers aren't used any longer. I use GV Callback when I want to so truly haven't noticed how calls are implemented. There was a lot of complaining in the review section of the market though...

I think that is pretty much what GV Callback does, it just automates the process.

Thanks for that info. I just checked out GV Callback in the market. It seems that there are quite a few bad reviews about it. However, it has a 4 star rating.

Do you notice any problems with it? Does it work well? Does it actually keep you from using your regular minutes?

Thanks,

It works quite well actually. There is a slight delay from when you place the call and GVCB calls you back but call quality is fine. I only use it for a few numbers as most of my family and friends are on Verizon but when I do use it I have no issues at all. It does show your GV number, not your Verizon number...that doesn't bother me though.
There are a few different ways to set it up with the filters, just see what works best for you :)

Edit: Yes, as long as your GV # is on your Friends and Family it is a free call.

Great! Thanks! I'm gonna give it a try.

Yeah, that helped. I tried Google. I got to the torrent site.

The comment was that it's open enough... and not a very good tracker. I get the open or not part, but what is the tracker reference, oh smarter than everyone?

(Tell me, shadow... how does your reply fit into the "Zero Tolerance Policy, anyway? Perhaps I should press the little red triangle button....)
