I want to try defrost 2.9. That's the latest right?

It states that a wipe is required. I'm coming from a modaco Rom. Im co cerned about a wipe though because I use titanium and don't find it reliable. Last time I installed defrost 2.6 and restored, I didn't even restore my Google settings. It was like I had to set up from scratch.

Is a wipe really essential? Are there any better backup and restore apps? Perhaps my backup pro?

Any advice or input greatly appreciated.

Edit... gonna clear my titanium backups and create a clean set

I`m still a novice at this game.First flashed with full wipe and restored with titanium.Worked perfectly.Second rom i flashed lost all my data.
Flashed WhiteXperience 2.0 last night only wiping cache.Worked fine.
Now running LeeDrOiD V1.9 without any wiping. No problems so far.
Warning!! as i stated at the start i`m a total novice,so probably ive just been extremely lucky(major probs ahead maybe:p). The most important thing is to do a nandroid backup so at least you can get back to where you started.

why not mount your SD card first and see if Titanium has backed up everything first.....

A wipe is always recommended, because if people run into issues thats typically the problem.

However, you don't need to. The best course of action is to flash without wiping. If then the rom has issues, simply reflash with a wipe.

Ok my LeeDrOiD flash with no wipe worked fine.Flashed OpenDesire without any wipe..worked fine but i prefered Lee`s rom so restored with nandroid.
Loving this rom.. Battery life is good. Got it set up with Launcher Pro and icons by some guy called Lekky:)
