Is it me? am I missing something?

So the new all action hottest download right now is a ripped version of need for speed shift for snapdragon devices, am I right so far?

And we wonder why we wait and wait for high end games to come to android?

Well my take on it is, and stay with me here, it could well be because the smegging freetards are ripping, porting and pirating the stuff themselves, the same ones who moan that there is such a massive dived between the android market a the Istore, well duh, they can make money on the Istore and lose money when a spotty teenage oik nicks all their hard work and effort

What incentive is there to develop or port stuff over to android? sod all is what, the very open nature which makes android great is gonna turnaround and bite it in its ass

It is not avaiable for our devices. That is the developers fault. I'm not saying piracy is good. I for one will be buying the game as soon as it's available.

But until then...

mrlongbeard doesn't understand either the apple app store or the android market, or the issue with need for speed.

you can also get apps and games for free on an iphone, very easily. In fact most of my friends use this as their first dfefence as to why iphones are better than android devices:

"i can install anything i want to free o0n my jailbroken iphone"

So that defeats any point being made straight away.

Anyway like i said, this game isn't available so the issue is not totally black and white.

I don't think it does defeat any point being made, because you don't have to root a Desire to install non-Market apps via APK files. If someone can just download a game for free, pop it on the microSD and install it on a totally unmodified phone, then that's a bigger issue for devs. Jailbreaking an iPhone might be trivial to people in the know, but many people wouldn't do it because it voids the warranty and there's a small chance of you bricking the phone, just like lots of people wouldn't be playing Need For Speed on their Desire if they had to root it first.

I fully understand, the amount of JBen iphones is tiny in the big picture of things and devs stand to loose a small fraction of what they could make, as opposed to a whole android market ready and willing to go.freetard at the drop of a hat.

thats not why they released it for one device. They only released it for one device to maximise profit by signing a licence deal with samsung.

If half their future market was gone, then its their own fault.

However, like i said, people will still buy it when they do release it, we just want to play it now. They aren't losing money from me.

I'm sorry but what...?

The whole android market?
Do you know how many android devices there are?
Do you know how many people read this forum?
Do you know how many people even know they have the option to install apps outside of hte market?

The whole android market will not install this game, or rip apps.

So back to the beginning:

I actually agree with you, about people ripping off app devs. However, thats about it.

Ahh if the devs wanted money they should have released it themselves. It was obviously possible if some "oik" was able to deliver it to us. Your argument regarding selling to iPhone above Android because of their closed market space is fragile at best. Any and all type of media is available to purchase and most will do so even if it is easy to get it free. Take the success of iTunes when it is simple to find any album you want free. Honest people will pay if its available. The freetards are always in the minority, the best thing for EA to do now would be to get an official app released quick sharp to cash in on the attention its receiving and I for one in this community would be more than happy to redirect people to the official paid for app in any and all threads including links to the pirate version.

That said I can quite understand the frustration of the community when all the major brand apps available on iPhone still refuse to accept Android exists and has masses of users, either that or have given up on developing apps on the belief it was a fad that they just wanted to cash in on from a marketing perspective alone by appearing to be hip by association. I can't decide which would be worse for us.
