Root LG Ally Custom Rom - Dapper Duck Build

ONE MORE BIG THING! this build will format your phone so be sure to backup everything, the reason i did that is because of all the changes i have made too the phone, after this the updates will no longer format the phone.

**UPDATE**
hey guys so got some good news, this rom is rooted, has app2sd enabled, /data/app is enabled, custom boot animations, and all sorts of other goodies are enabled on this.
hope you guys like, its currently on beta 1, its taken me some work to get to this point due to the fact that i bricked my phone god knows how many times :p

the only thing i haven't done is a customized theme, unfortunately i cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it. but this rom is a good start :)

Dapper Duck beta 1 - replaced with new version

btw it was my sons suggestion for the name considering his toddler fascination with ducks :)

ok guys here is Dapper Duck Beta 1.4
changes made:
Added:
Rom Manager
Wifi Tether for Root
Spare Parts
Launcher Pro 0.7.6.0

Removed:
Launcher2

*i hope you guys like the latest release of Dapper Duck*
if you have any more suggestions for customization or would like to submit a theme to be added too the rom let me know ill take a look at it and make sure its stable enough for the next release*

Might I suggest removing socialite visual vm myspace and the others?

ok the ext2 is 512mb and the swap is 128.

also i left the socialite and vvm in there because i know of a lot of people who use those. their easy to remove if ya wanna delete them and replace with your own app though.

EDIT:
**also after partitioning my SD card the app2sd does work :)**

I have tried for the last 3 hours to get the apps to install to the sd where are the settings for it or how do you install the apps to the sd card

you have to format the sd card with a fat32 partition (data: ie, pics, etc), an ext2 (for apps), and if you want a swap partition.

what i did was backed up all my data onto my laptop and formatted the ext2 with 512mb, my swap as 128, and the rest as the fat32 data.

after all that it will automatically install the apps too the sd card :)

I worked on it again and did reformat my SD card to 512 and 128 then re installed the rom and started installing some apps from market and they all installed to internal storage even removed the sd card and ran an app just to verify, I hate it but uninstalled until i can get it to work later.

any suggestions as to what i have done wrong

apps to sd requires that you partition your sdcard easy way is to use my amon-ra recovery. Currently the kernel in the recovery and the stock kernel only support ext2 (no ext3 & ext4) I've recompiled the kernel and will update my recovery with it if you want to use ext3 &4. Your boot.img for the rom must also support ext3 & 4 too.

Dark-ish clear is always a win =D

thats actually what i was thinking, dark-ish clear with either red or blue accents.

btw, who has tested this rom? is it stable for ya? do you like it? what suggestions would you like to make, like additional apps, etc.... (btw apps have to be free ones, im not going to steal someones hard work, thats just not cool)

lol, i can understand, lg home was an interesting theme, but i had too many stability issues with it and the thing ate ram like it was candy :p. atleast on my phone it did. i may consider adding it back if i can theme it.

i will be posting a new build by next tuesday, i would do it this weekend but i have to work 14 hour days.

yes it was and it could be ram hungry ALOT, but i had no problems with stability issues unless the drawer opened and closed to fast then it froze. ill play around with the APK and see what can be done
