I haven't got the OTA yet! Oh noez!
Don't worry. You can go into your Settings, About Phone, System Updates and some people have had their phones pinged but the Update wasn't initiated for some reason.
You can also do a manual update using Trident's Guide How to Force Official Android 2.2 Froyo FRG01B Update
If I manually pushed the 2.2 update to my phone, will I still get the OTA update?!?
You will not get the FRG01B OTA update because...you already have it
You will still receive future updates so don't worry.
2.2 is killing my battery! What do I do?
Some have mentioned Latitude is causing a problem. I don't leave unnecessary things running on my phone so I have no accounts auto syncing at any interval, GPS is off, WiFi is off, screen on lowest setting. As it has been mentioned, maybe a million times now, turn your task killers off. You don't need them. This isn't Windoze.
First, try a couple of reboots. You can try a battery pull which is basically a quick reset of the phone. Do this if it stops responding to any input. Or you can do a reset to factory settings and erase all the data on your phone (key word, on your phone, not your SD card).
FRG01B ruined my phone...where is FRG22?
It is rolling out according to VZW FRG22 rolling out!
2.2 sucks and I want 2.1 back!

I just want everyone to know that I didn't write this guide, just the first paragraph. You can thank ikithme for the guide.
Now that a .sbf file has been released for our Droid's we can always recover them using RSD Lite. it is pretty easy to use this. Of course if you physically break your phone it won't help, but if you screw anything up software wise you are covered.
If you unplug your phone while doing this it will break it beyond repair, Verizon will not be able to fix it. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO USE IT!
Here is a guide.
Requirements
A. A stock sbf file
2.0 VZW_A855_ESD20_QSC6085BP_C_01.3B.01P_SW_UPDATE.sbf
2.0.1 VZW_A855_ESD56_QSC6085BP_C_01.3E.01P_SW_UPDATE_03. sbf
2.1 VZW_A855_ESE81_QSC6085BP_C_01.3E.03P_SW_UPDATE_02. sbf
B. http://androidoverdrive.com/downloads/RSDLite4.6.7z (RSDLite 4.6)
C. Current Motorola Drivers
Make sure you download the correct drivers for your system either 32bit or 64bit
Instructions:
1. Download all of the files above including the 32-bit OR 64-bit Motorola USB Drivers.
2. Install RSDLite AND the 32-bit or 64-bit Motorola USB Drivers (Depends on your system most will need 32-bit some will need 64-bit)
3. Connect your phone to USB and turn it off then turn it back on, while your phone is booting hold up on the DPAD. (Some users have said it is easier to hold the volume down button and camera button instead.)
4. Run RSD Lite 4.6 as Administrator (For all you Vista and 7 folks out there. If you are using XP you may not need to run as Administrator)
5. Click the ... next to the filename box and browse to where you saved the .sbf file and double click the .sbf file.
6. Hit start and below it should give you completion progress and all of that.
7. Once your phone is done being flashed (It may take a while so don't unplug it) it will reboot and you will be back at stock 2.0.1 no root.

No Silence phone via Volume Rocker!
Don't worry, you can still silence your phone. But, with the 2.2 FRG01B update you have to either choose vibrate or silence when you turn your volume all the way down. Don't know how to change between silent and vibrate? Go to Settings - Sound - And you will see your option under General - Vibrate drop down. You can use RingGuard to get around this (it is an app).
Alarm Clock is gone!
No it isn't, it is just not as easy to locate as it used to be. Open up your app drawer, select Clock, then tap the little Alarm Clock icon in the bottom left. The only way to add the alarm clock shortcut to your homescreen is by long pressing, then adding widget, analog clock, it is a gross looking icon but it takes you to your alarms so there you have it. I will be looking at how to replace that icon because it is ugly looking.
One other option, go to the market, download Launcher Pro, once installed, long press on home screen - shortcut - activities (give it a second to load) scroll to clock and tap on it, then click alarms and voila! It will show default Alarms shortcut.
LED Indicator - how can I change it and why isn't it a factory setting?
IDK why it isn't a factory setting but you can use a number of programs:
Blink
Handcent
Missed Call
SMS popup
Gmail Notifier
Calendar Notifier
Note: some of these may have issues with Froyo. I am currently using SMS popup and it works perfectly (having a current issue with it where pressing back in stock messaging app just refreshes messages, let me know if you experience same problem). Reports of Missed Call not working in 2.2 are present. I have not tried Blink nor Handcent.
I don't like the new stock messaging app! Can I change it back to how it used to be?
No, you cannot without reverting back to 2.1. However, you can download Handcent and give that a whirl. Most people swear by it and would never look at the stock messaging app. We can only hope if/when the second update comes they fix some of this stuff but it is unlikely.
Handcent & 3rd Party Apps Don't Sync w/Facebook Picture!
Don't worry, we have an app for that. Syncmypix works great. You may have to do an uninstall of your app and reinstall or try resyncing before it works.
Wireless Tether w/Froyo 2.2! Wait, I got 2.2 but where is the wireless hotspot?
Well, if you are a rooted user on the D1 than you may have been using this capability for months. However, Moto (and VZW I believe) have stated the D1 doesn't have the hardware to do it.
Rooting? My Droid has no roots...what is this?
Rooting gives your phone super user access (SU). This allows you to flash custom ROMs and themes. Take a second to read OMJ's Guide All Things Root Related and once you think you know what it is, reread it and then read everything in the All Things Root for the Droid Forum
Can I root my phone even if I am on 2.2 FRG01B?
Of course you can. However, be warned. Rooting your phone can cause problems if you do not do it correctly as well as invalidate your warranty if you take your rooted phone into Verizon.
Google Maps/Latitude sucks with the newest update! What do I do?
Simplest thing to do is uninstall updates. Just go to applications in your settings and uninstall updates. Something else for those having problems with it not locating you well, go to market and install GPS Status. Turn your GPS location on, go outside, spin it in your hand three times, and flip it over three times (then jump on one foot till you can't stand anymore) and go into google maps and see if that gets a closer proximity to your location. Electronics and phones cause interference almost always so go outside away from everything and do this.
Adobe Flash Player 10.1 on Android! Heck yes! Wait...it isn't in the Market?
Nope. Not right now it isn't. What you see in there is a showcase if you do a search. The only way you'll get flash is doing a search and finding one of the beta releases.

Follow the above steps mentioned in going back to 2.1 Even if you root, flash back to an earlier version, you will still receive the OTA update when you go into settings, about phone, system updates. It is more likely it will automatically start downloading.
I want to root now that I see what types of problems there are!
The ABSOLUTE easiest and free method is to go to Android Superuser and download the file under the root section of the site and install. Works perfectly!
Note: I know there are others but these questions are flooding this forum right now and I took the ones I saw the most. Please add a question in here that you have seen cause countless threads so we can hopefully stop the 500 multiple posts regarding, I have no OTA yet and the likes.

- Go to Menu > Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset > Reset phone.
- If you cannot get to the Menu for some reason, turn Droid off, remove battery for 10 seconds, put it back in and power on while holding the X on the physical keyboard. Hold these until the device powers up and the triangle with the ! appears.
- Then press the camera button on the side of the phone and the volume up at the same time to get to the menu. Some people report needing multiple presses of these buttons before it works.
- Then use the directional pad on the physical keyboard to go to Format and press okay (the gold button in the center of d-pad).
