I am waiting for my Aria to be delivered. Has anybody used the native exchange mail on 2.1? How does it perform? I heard a lot of good things about Touchdown for exchange. Can I get that with the 3rd party restrictions that ATT has on the android market? If so I remember reading about a work around but can't remember what it was. Thanks

I was in the same boat you were when I got my Aria. I had heard about Touchdown, but I also heard good things about the HTC Sense Exchange mail client. So I tried the HTC mail client first and it works great with Exchange, so I didn't need to try Touchdown.

The HTC Exchange client downloaded all of my Exchange contacts without a hitch, updates and syncs my Exchange calendar and the mail client supports Exchange folders and the mail widget is pretty cool, too. IMO, you should try the HTC client first.

Tom

Thanks Tom I will give it a try. Is the mail push? Can you have different notifications for different email accounts? Like exchange and gmail.

Yes, Exchange supports push mail and both Exchange and Gmail have their own config settings for notifications, so you can make the notifications use different sounds. They also have different icons on the notification bar.

BTW, I run Exchange and Gmail both in push mode plus I have Wifi on all day as well as Bluetooth and my battery life will usually last 2 days with light to moderate use.

Regards,

Tom
