Anyone experiencing this? Started up about 2 days ago for me.
I open up Google Maps, and within a minute it does a force close.

Running on Rogers in Ontario, Canada.
FW: 1.6
BaseBand: 4.4.25
Kernel 2.6.29-rel
R2BA020

I have the GPS enabled, as well as wireless assist.
Tried turning wireless assist off but still experiencing this problem.:mad:

bought mine in toronto just prior to a business move to nova scotia. it worked fine for a couple days for me then at random started force closing. i in another thread admitted i didnt even know the term 'forced close' til i searched for help with my issues.
it is now unusable. it might work one day or for part of a trip then crash. one day last week it force closed on my 15 times during one short half hr trip...it left me in a strange unknown city to me...with no clue how to get to my destination.
google maps has a slogan that basically says never carry a paper map again....well...that may apply to any phone but a sony x10.

i even tried to do another repair flash yesterday but the back up program to save contacts etc force closed on me half way thru.

too ironic...too many forced closes...so i want to repair it...but to save my basic info..i need to use a program that force closes.
sigh....

Mine has been fine for a long time, but this last week, I put in an address with english spelling (cavalier) when the street was french (cavelier). Literally FC's maps, Nav could not compute, I tried closing out and it locked up the whole phone. First time ever.

Once I figured out the spelling was french, it worked in 2 seconds. Very odd.

I went in to Settings, and Applications.
Uninstalled the updates.
Then went into market and installed updates.

Everything is working up to par again. Shouldn't need to reinstall everything on your phone, although your phone does sound a bit wonky.
Being that calendar, contact and mail are synced with Google, you shouldn't need to backup those things. I love this fact as you do not need to sync with MS Outlook etc. I've wiped out and reinstalled my phone on the fly a few times. Very convenient.

re syncing with google. you are making an assumption that everyone that buys and android phone uses google..i dont...i use yahoo for my email...and you cannot even import the contacts into google...which i dont want anyhow...so that doesnt help me re syncing contacts........
