The Desk Genie is the desktop version of a popular car mount. Perhaps that will work for you although it's not custom built for the Captivate.

Oh hey, that might work. I was hoping to find a desktop charger since the one on Samsung's site just seems to be vaporware. I might have to check it out 19 euro, that about 28 bucks I think, the one on Samsungs site is $40 and has never been in stock.

I am either lost or this thing is USELESS waste of money for the Cappy. All you use it for is a HOLDER? $30 holder (after shipping to the States)? It is not a dock for the Captivate, you have to provide your own micro USB. You by hand connect the micro USB to the phone, and then place the phone on this thing? That is all I am getting out of this "cradle"?

I didn't think it was all that great either, but there doesn't seem to be too many options at the moment. Of course it depends on why the OP needed a desktop cradle in the first place. If it's just to be able to see the display while charging it would work.

Yeah I agree it's a rip-off. Just get another wall charger and plug in the cable. That's what I did. In fact I'm going to order some spares and some spare USB cables to keep in various places (home/work/travel).
