Help HOW TO: Reverting Back to 2.1

Okay, so for those of you who are just unhappy with 2.2, or just want to go back and wait for the OTA; this is for you.


WARNING: This will delete all phone data (apps, settings, etc.), however, It will not affect or delete files on your SD Card.


Instructions:

Step 1: Download the Downgrade.zip File from (We are not allowed to post the actual SBF file on these forums... However, I STRONGLY suggest Googling this: Nailservers.com)

Step 2: Extract Downgrade.zip to your Desktop.

Step 3: Extract "the_gift" and open/install the appropriate drivers (32/64 bit).

Step 4: Extract and Install RSD Lite.

Step 5: Move/Replace the pst_flash.ini file to "C:\Program Files\RSD".

Step 6: Extract the remaining zipped folders.

Step 7: Open RSD Lite.

Step 8: Browse (...) to the .sbf File and select it.

Step 9: Open "Bootloader" mode on your phone.
- Hold the Camera, Vol. Down, and Power buttons.

Step 10: Plug your phone into your computer.

Step 11: Select your Phone from the list and select "Start".

Step 12: Power off the Phone. Hold Power + Home Keys.

Step 13: Scroll to select "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" (this will not affect SD cards).

Step 14: Boot up your phone and you're done.

Note: I STRONGLY urge you to watch the video before trying this, it can be tedious. If you miss a step or forget something, it may fail; try to stay calm ;)

Awesome. I hope this solution works if we can't use the official Froyo update. I'm pretty sure some of us just jumped in heads first without thinking..and as much as I'd hate to admit it, I sure did. But the update was overdue, and I'm sure many users will agree on this.

But I'm glad someone helped with a HOW TO!

OMG i've been looking for this for like an hr...


This really needs to be moved to the main posting sections coz i was looking for it there..

If I give my email, can i ask the poster to email it to me? I dont want to get anyone in trouble.. but i REALLY need that file!

the whole point is to NOT ask for it in an open forum
