I have the Evo. How much to trade it in at sprint on the 31st

Yeah I figured so. I just got my rebate from sprint for the Evo so that should help as well.

???? Negative. Im not canceling my contract Im just moving to another phone. I may have to extend the 2 year but there wont be any cancel fee?
Lets see--You said you just got a rebate for the EVO. That means to get that rebate, you had to extend your contract (Phone number) for 2 years AS soon as you try to put that number on another phone they will charge you an early termination fee $200Plus probably have to pay back the rebate(s).

They won't charge an early term fee. He will get stuckl paying retail for the Epic. As long as he had the Evo active for 60 days he will keep his rebate usually. at most they would charge him retail for the Evo. Good Luck. Selling the EVO privately is your best bet.
Full retail for the EVO is what? $500??? he paid $200 probably. So there goes his rebate plus the balance to full retail. It's going to cost him out of pocket any way you look at it.

Here is how it goes,

I bought the evo for 349 when it came out. I got the 100 mail in rebate. Im going to buy the Epic on the 31st for full retail 549? Transfer number to epic. Sale the evo.

Sprint will not charge me a early cancel fee as Im not canceling my account :). Sprint will not make me pay back the rebate. Confirmed with sprint rep.

I may be out of pocket 50-100 bucks or so depending on what the evo goes for. Not too bad.

Like most people are saying, sell the evo, then buy the epic. I've never really been into the whole ebay scene (not sure why), but I'm more of a craigslist kind of guy. I was in a similar situation to yours. Basically, long story short, I wanted the epic but upgraded to the evo on launch day. Just a few days ago, I sold my evo for $400 on craigslist. Luckily, I'm on a family plan and am gonna use a line with upgrade to get the epic, then switch it over to my line so I actually make some money, about $50 altogether :D. Anyways, it took about 3-4 days before I found the legit buyer. Just thought that my experience might help you out as to what is in your best interest to do! I've been looking at evo prices on ebay and they seem to do pretty well too. Good luck!

This is good news indeed. I too have an Evo looking to get the Epic. Hope I'm not shooting myself in the foot. Make a long story short I jumped in knowing I wanted a keyboard phone. However I have to say I loved the Evo. Had no problems until the 2.2 Update and now lost ability to root. Feel like getting the keyboard phone of choice the Epic along with 2.1 where I can root my phone would solve problem and not lose much. The screen on this Evo is so big I'm hoping I dont lose much there.
