Hello everyone,

From the last thread I made about how my droid was acting up and thinking it was a lemon, I traded it in to get a new one.

I had my new one for about 24 hrs now and i guess the same problems are happening. but it is working better then the last one.

What Im trying to say is that I dont think I will be keeping the Droid any longer. Ist just not as fast and precise as the iPhone. plus...Its an Android phone...it needs to be quicker and better to the touch responses and theirs a LOT of bugs...in general..sorry guys...

So i might go with the storm 2 and now that im looking at reviews, i think im just fgoing to say F**k it and go to ATT to get the iPhone. plus eveybody i know HAS the iphone..I feel left out...HAHA.

The droid is a really good phone kid you not but the software is so Laggy and it gets VERY annoying. I like verizon a lot but i need a dependable phone that will work with all my things in sync. I mean I had the iTouch so I know how to use it in every way possible.

ALSO i would like to add that i think i might regret ditching the droid because I think in about 6 months from now there will be a new droid thats faster and better.....Kinda like how the useal things go...Like the iPhone..haha
1st gen 2nd gen..3G..now the 3GS..Can Apple keep up with the game??
Like come on, picture phones has been out for YEARS and NOW Apple JUST released the phone with a camera and video . WOOW talk about poor planning.

but anyways i think illl get the iPhone.
Sorry Verizon.... I will miss you!!

Tell me what you guys think too:rolleyes:

I just came back over to Verizon from AT&T and the iPhone and I have never been happier.

I had the 3G then upgraded to the 3GS and to be honest they were marginally acceptable however AT&T's network stinks (at least in my area) and I can not stand the "God" attitude of Apple when it comes to apps and App Store approvals. I suppose they have a right to reject whatever they want; but I also have the right to reject them as my phone of choice.

I absolutely love Google Voice, been using it when it was Grand Central, and could not go back to a manufacturer/network that rejects that application.

Going on 2 weeks with the Droid, bought one for me as well as the wife, and we both have never been happier.

Sweet Robo! Did you even expect an app in the Marketplace not designed for 2.0 to cause you problems?

Good luck with that iphone and dropped calls, especially when your ibone tries to update in the background while you are on a call.... **drop**

And don't ever leave the City! :)

----------

On another note, I had problems with my ibone. Basically their "geniuses" said to try a hard restore... ok, hard restore, same problem, now what..... Oh, just send your phone in so we can look at it. UGGGGGGGGG. Somehow geniuses are not what they claim to be since there's like 1 million google pages on ibone problems of my specific nature, and they have never announced a fix.

Ok, I'm done venting about ibone. :)

I recommend you go spend half and hour with the Pre, then you will think the Droid is a speed demon...lol. Seriously, I don't get where people are thinking this phone is buggy. Maybe the Pre was just that slow and buggy, where it makes this phone seem quick and bug free...who knows. There is a learning curve with the Droid that has frustrated me a time or two, but overall I think it's a killer phone RIGHT NOW, not 6 months from now. I tried the original iPhone for about 2 days and took it back. Hated ATT service (spotty at best) and wasn't crazy about the phone...was bored after 2 days of playing with it. Gimmicky with no substance if you ask me.

All points noticed and agreed upon x100000 in various threads here and more.

Especially the last points made :)

Yea ATT sucks balls but i need a good phone now. I used to have Shitty ATT a few years ago and let me tell you, it was dropped call after dropped call. i had about 20-30 a week:mad:. ..asn att think they are all that....BULLSH*T.hahah

Im trying to decide quickly because I have a few more days until the 30 day return thing is over with. i wouldent be surprised is Droid comes out with a software update..yett i looked for one and couldent find one.

For starters ill maybe go with the Storm 2. i played with it and WOW what a huge improvement. the txt is way better then the droid hands down. No problems with the spelling and "Force Close" ive been getting a lot.

...I herd about the HD2 is comming out but i have no idea when. it looks like the new Zune that came out but its a big cell phone. ..kinda too big. its just a rectangle with a screen on it. literally. haha. amazing graphics.

If all else fails, ill go back to the droid or something..
If I switch ill let all of you know.
Until then it was nice being a Android user for about a month..:D

O Yea my instructor got the droid and he is going to start making some Apps. He is a well known ITT instructor and works for a Big local web developer company. This Free Open sorce programming is candy to him. LOL:D

there is a software update in a few weeks that you should possibly wait to see how it plays out before you jump ship
I say let him jump ship now. Those who abandon the field at the first sight of trouble shouldn't reap the rewards. Haha...

And he's genuinely choosing an iPhone despite the "bad service." Either he has no sense of logic, or he's just a troll.

I have never understood the point of these threads, letting us know that you are jumping ship..Ok cool. That being said I think you could wait until the update to see if it's fixed. I have had the iPhone since it came out in 07' the 2G, 3G, and 3GS and I like the iPhone alot but to stick with or switch to a company that provides you poor service is B.S. I know because I did it for 4 years and it never got better.

I have had the Droid since day 1 and it really isn't bad in comparison to the iPhone. The scrolling gets a little iffy and there is some things to get used to but I really feel that the majority of the problems or "bugs" will be fixed with the update. If you can't wait though and still want Verizon check out the Droid Eris. I almost bought that phone actually but I ultimately got the Droid. But the Droid Eris is really a nice phone. Plus it's got Verizon 3G.

"Bad service" is relative. My A&T Moto Q phone keeps 3-4 bars in my town, in the middle of the Baltimore/DC corridor, where the Droid is constantly flipping from 3G->1x, and has no bars drivng through certain parts of town. This inside (2) miles from (2) VZ stores and (2) blocks from VZ Central Office. Whether its a Droid thing or VZ remains to be seen, given the reports of other smartphones on VZ not having signal issue n the same aresa...but at my parents, only 2miles away, having the battery go from 95% to 20% in 3.5 hours while idle, searching for (1) bar of anything, was the last straw for me.

I hope its a configuration or firmware issue and the Dec 11 update will resolve, as there is alot to like about the phone. For me, it just too close to the end of my 30day trial window to wait. However I don't undestand the "laggy" reports, esp. in stock form. Now if one is loading up on free apps from the market from unkown developers, and then complaining that its its the phone, well that's just unwarranted.

@RoboTRNO89: Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

@colnago: You can significantly extend standby battery time by downloading Advanced Task Killer Pro. It has a feature called Auto-kill. It will shut down any programs that are running in the background every 0.5, 1, or 2 hours. My battery lasts all day since I started using this program.

Happens to be that I subscribe to threads that have to do with this topic and here is my experience with my facts.

Had an Android and iPhone at the same time. Switched between both from day to day.

My take is that the Andriod is VERY VERY buggy. After installing about 2 or 3 apps, laggggggggged big time. My experiecne with the iPhone has been superior. Update or version upgrade or not, I wouldnt go back to the Andriod at all. Might I consider it after a few years of dev, yes. The fact of the matter is that I have talked about it with a few of my tech buddies and we all agree that the open platform at this time does more harm than good.

As for the iPhone, superior. I cant say more about it. I am on the Tmo network. Jailbroken and unlocked and I cannot say enough about my experience with the iPhone. Its been awesome.

ATT = monopolistic bunch of pigs.

Once again, give it a year or 2 and I think, (operative word, think) the Android will gain ground.

All of this is based on my own opinion.

You have every right to switch phones, but really, Droid to Storm2?

What were your top 3 major complaints about the Droid, and does the Storm2 fix those issues?

I'm just happy that you are happy. That's the bottom line. If everyone liked the same thing, this would be a very, VERY boring world! (And the ONE restaurant would be VERY crowded!!!!)
