New flash 10.1 has hardware decoding!!

According to Flash Player 10.1 for Android 2.2 Release Notes it is not enabled yet.

Hardware decoding of video is not yet enabled. Currently, Flash on Android 2.2 supports software decoding for all the same H.264 profiles as Flash on the desktop.

Unless you have a newer build version than 10.1.92.8, b/c that KB article specifically states that for build 10.1.92.8 it is disabled.

To read more about hardware acceleration (which I believe is being used interchangeably with hardware decoding) see Flash Player 10.1 hardware acceleration for video and graphics | Adobe Developer Connection

I know that it says that but off of real world use between the 2 versions beta 3 plays video like Shit where as the version that came specifically on the droid 2 and droid x run video flawlessly. This makes me think they tweaked that version of flash to support there gpu's.. now put the newest release on the droid 1 and it runs exactly the same as the droid x.

SWF-based H.264 video may be decoded by your graphics hardware. There may be video bugs that can only be reproduced with your particular video card and driver.
Also in the release notes there is this

So far, I have to agree. I am disappointed with how flash is working. I hope that the market version (when it comes) has been adjusted. Otherwise all of they hype wasn't worth it.
