Hi all,

As in the initial post above, I just wanted to add that roboPrint was released over the weekend onto the Android Market. Of the initial 100 beta testers, who were all selected because of their expertise with systems, none had any real difficulty using the product. So, it was decided to get a real test going and release it to the general public and see what happens.

Some things to know, the application is very functional and prints over WiFi or 3G to any printer, anywhere in the world. It currently prints Emails, Attachments, HTML (web pages), Images, PDF, XLS, DOC and more... You can setup multiple printer profiles (one at home, the office, your friend etc...) and the Printer Profiler will test connectivity for you to ensure you can print to the printer.

The Free Windows Host Service is under heavy development. The current version released with roboPrint is hardcoded to automatically open TCP/UDP port 10010 in Windows Firewall, but you must manually open the same port on your NAT Router device to your PC. Also, there is currently NO GUI installed, the software will run as a service and you can Start and Stop the service from the Start menu.

We are adding many features to the Windows Host like UPNP to help open the port on your Firewall/Router automatically and a very nice GUI that will show you the external IP address of your network so that it will be easier to set it up.

Also, like all applications of this type, you may want to consider using a free Dynamic DNS service like the awesome DYNDNS which is totally free and allows you to use the same "name" to access you printer... like BluePlanetMan.Mynetwork.org (not real, just an example).

Lastly, in this release of roboPrint we have removed the installed by default email providers and instead you need to manually add your own. You can add as many email accounts as you want. We will release an update with GMAIL, YAHOO and other built in mail systems as well as your own custom mail.

Happy Android Days,

Hmm.. This is the first report of this. Did you get an option to send a report back? Just out of curiosity, after you rebooted and you ran the application what happened?

New update pushed out this morning for roboPrint on the Android Market.... Non Market version link updated above in original post.

Another update coming today or tomorrow will include major back end enhancements by integrating Flurry analytics and will let us debug and see what the code is doing on all platforms much better.

Lastly, please, if you install the software and have any issues, contact us, we are here and willing to help with any problems you may have. The fastest way to contact us is by sending an email to support@blueplanetapps.com (which is forwarded to at least 5 people) and will usually get a response right away during business hours, 8am-8pm M-F EST USA.

Additionally, if you like our software, please post a review about it on the Android Market (assuming you got the software from the market).

Thanks,

Happy Android Days,

Jason

Hi Jason,

Any word about the desktop installer for Windows 7 64-bit? I emailed a few days ago but have yet to hear back from you. Thanks.
