Why pay for texting when you can just E-Mail text?

what?!?! no way. you can have them send texts to you through Google Voice and it's no charge to receive but cost money to send out?

If you use the google voice app, you can send and recieve for free. The only downside is that it doesn't do MMS, only SMS, and you have a different number so you have to get people to use a new ph# for you.

One thing I really like about using GV for texting is that you can get your messages on the gvoice website too, so when I'm at work and my wife texts me all day, I can reply from my pc instead of having to type on the tiny phone keyboard :p

how does GV work with vzw to vzw or in-network plans?

if I call or text another vzw # through GV, does it count for minutes or is it still free?
