Ladies with DROID?

It is true that the Eris looks 'nicer' and the Droid name and advertising seems to be aimed at men, but the physical keyboard is a big deal for me and I could 'pretty' my Droid up with the cover (pink) and wallpaper selection. So far most of my female friends are experiencing some degree of Droid envy so I would predict more new buyers will be women after they have seen others using the device.

I dont believe ANY of you. Girls dont buy Droid phones. Hahahaha.

When Droid and Eris were coming out soon I talked my sister into getting the droid, but when she looked up the Eris online, she liked it better.

Girls get Eris. Boys get Droid.

(im just joking btw but yeah id like to see pics of girls and droids because i have not seen any girls with one.)

I hope if you ladies have desk jobs you splurge on an extra multimedia station for your Droid at work. I have one and I love it. I get so many compliments on my beautiful clock before the guys realize it is a phone! I just laugh because then they realize I have a cooler phone than they do.:p And the Eris doesn't have a sweet dock of any sort so I made the right decision when I got the "men's" Droid.

Happy to see that both genders have intelligent mobile users. According to Barbara Lippert's opinion piece at Adweek, women will be turned off by Verizon's Droid ads. As a male, I couldn't weigh in but felt she might be wrong. I absolutely love the new anti-iCan't ad where they are bashing "fashion queens" of both genders who long for an iCan't phone.

Here is Lippert's critique of the initial Droid ads: Verizon's Droid Rage

lady here. Own the Droid - loves it.
Coworkers, also ladies, seem mystified by it too. They were all about getting an iphone, saw mine, and decided not to. While I don't know if they'll necessarily get the Droid, the fact that its awesomeness made them immediately reconsider their iphone lust and decide against getting one is pretty funny.

I'd also like to add that they're pretty girly.

While yeah, the marketing is definately most fitted to appeal to males, I think today, as consumers - regardless of sex - we're attracted to the new and cool and whatever we perceive as the best. The iphone is perceived as the king/queen;) of smartphones now because it made a name for itself since it was completely innovative, and had really good marketing. It also helps that Apple itself already had an enormous number of loyal brand enthusiasts.

The iphone was the best thing out there in my coworkers' minds, until they saw my droid.

Also, while Droid ads play on a sci-fi action theme which typically makes us think of a male audience; the ads definitely sparked curiosity, increased awareness, and positioned their product as something out of this world. Definite marketing win imo.

All in all, as someone who almost got an Iphone, then read about Android in some comments, and decided to hold out 4 a sexy phone to go along with what sounded like a superior mobile OS, I'm extremely satisfied with my Droid. :)

Hola everyone,

So, given the story on the phandroid homepage (RC29 Update for T-Mobile G1 | Android Phone Fans

It made me wonder: how many ladies have you seen with the phone? I'm a 23 year old gal, and I droooooled over the idea of android on Verizon. Am I in the minority?

I know 4 off the top of my head they are friends and yes they drooled also I had to constantly mop up after them. LOL!

I'm in my 20s and I like my Droid. My nails are long, but I still LOVE the physical keyboard. For me, it's way better than all touch screen! No, I don't find the buttons to be too small for my fingers (or nails) but I do have a problem with enter and delete. But I've only had my phone since Friday afternoon. :)

Functionality and size are more important than beauty.... that's what skins are for. It is a pretty heavy phone, but I love all the apps, the keyboard, and the screen so much that I'm not at all put off by the design. It's still a pretty slim phone. To me, it's far better than the super thick phones, no matter the color or shape.

My only issue so far is with yahoo mail folders and selecting multiple users from the contact list (no groups, etc). The appearance of the phone is the least of my concern.
