Hiding Photos on Vibrant

You could connect the phone to USB, access the naughty pictures you're trying to hide from the wife, and right click the files, properties, and select HIDE, after that, go to ADVANCE, and encrypt the pictures, to be double whammy sure, you could also change the file extension after you did all that to something like this, stripclubpartypic44.bin

Or what you could also do, is just use WinRar and archive all the pictues in the phone. And rename the archive to anything less obvious.

Put them in a separate folder and make a blank file in Notepad. Rename this file .nomedia (no name and file type .nomedia). Put this file in the folder you made along with the private photos.

To access the files use the "Files" app to access them.

simply naming whatever folder the pics are in with a . in front of the folder name hides it from the gallery app, no need to create more work for it. any folder with a . as the first char will hide it's contents from apps other than file managers.

There is also some app lock apps in the market. You can lock out individual apps with a code. I used one on my iPhone for a long time and loved it. There is a free one in the app store that i tried which was free but after you rebooted, everything was unlocked again. That was a while ago so it might be updated, ....and there are some others that cost a couple bucks.

Installed Photo Vault to check it out, but I don't quite get this application and instructions are not that great. How does this application work in conjunction with the Gallery.I have transfered some private pics into the private section, but they still show up in Gallery.

This was my experience as well. Piss poor app with even worse instructions. Deleted it.

When I go in to the app it asks for my password then click ok. Then on the public tab just long press on the pics you dont want other people to see on your Gallery. They would disappear from your public tab and go to your private one. Click on phones menu and press quit. Done. Pictures that are on private shouldn't be on Gallery. Hope this helps. BTW, on my Startup Mode settings I have it on Starts in Private Mode and Using classic login checked.

I'm laughing sooooo hard at this thread. What exactly are your private pics that all of you people are trying to hide? Also what kind of friends do you guys have, that disrespect your privacy, and go through your phones album. Thats just wrong. If you can't trust your phone infront of a friend without them going through your stuff, I don't think thats really a trustworthy person. There is absolutely no reason for anyone, a friend or family member, to be justified in going through your texts, emails, or gallery of photos without your explicit permission. even if they ask to see your cool vibrant to play around with it, those 3 areas should be off limits by common sense to that person.

Again I ask, what kind of "private" photos do you people have that you want to hide? I'm assuming its self nude photos, since it seems like the craze these days with morons is to "sext." I don't understand sexting/nude photos, just boggles my mind. Seriously, what if you lose your phone, and some android nerd finds it, cracks whatever privacy setting you put on it, then puts up the photo of you sporting a woody or your pink taco all over the net.
