Screen Covers/Cases...(Questions and Tips)

So, I personally love the power support Anti-Glare film for iPhones. I put on an average of 3 a day at work for customers. I went into verizon and they had a 3 pack of glossy-type film screens. I figured it was only 12 bucks so I'd just put it on for now until i find an alternative.

Has anyone found anything with either a matte finish or just a thinner/better screen cover?

Tips On Application:

1.) Clean screen before application.
2.) Have a sticker or a piece of scotch tape handy; it can be very useful for pulling up dusts or specks that get under the screen.
3.) Bubbles can be flattened out. It's only when you see a piece of lint or a speck caught underneath that a permanent bubble is formed. If this happens, use the sticker (not your nail, because you could possibly ruin it) to lift up the screen, and then dab at the underside of the cover or the screen itself to extract the speck/dust.
4.) Alignment is key if you're a bit OCD.

My verizon one works fine, and i'm happy with it.

I saw a few cool cases on HTC Droid Eris Accessories and Cases ... The black one has the same rubberized matte feel as the phone itself, and black keeps the illusion of being thin.

No. I don't think so at least, but it would be nice to cover them.

The biggest concern is going in and our of a jeans pocket, the oils from your face, and finger prints. Those don't really affect the 4 touch buttons.

The proper ones to use for Touchs' are the PowerSupport Anti-Glare Screens. They are generally 15$ for a 2 pack. Power Support makes their shit right, so im going to steal an extra one im sure we'll have laying around in the returns bin.

Has anyone found that their phone is less touch-responsive when using these screen protectors? I used to use invisible shield on my omnia's screen and when i finally took it off I was amazed at how much more responsive it was with my screen protector off! I was wondering if this was the same for the eris. Still waiting for my eris to arrive.

So, all I came home with today were DLO Anti-Glare screen protectors for the iphone. I cut one and only placed it over the screen (not the touch buttons). Touch responsiveness has been completely retained, but the screen distortion from the matte finish seems to be worse than the matte protector i use on my ipod touch. I'm not sure whether it's due to the brand of the protectors, or the screen of the Eris/ipod. I'm waiting to hear the opinion of W4lly and the way the screen looks after he tries out his brand.

Personally, I don't mind some loss in screen clarity from an antiglare protector. I completely expect that to happen and accept it for the tradeoff in usability in light.

yea...i odn't trust "street" stuff. When it comes to my phone, which i use eveyday i shell out the extra 10 bills
At 5 for $3.99 s/h included, I don't have a problem with it. The stuff is thick enough and just as good as the $10.00 stuff I bought at Verizon for my ENV2. It's already soaked up some minor scratches so you know I'm happy.

Im not noticing any lag or issues with the Verizon stock ones.

I know for a fact that the PowerSupport ones, what ever material they use/the way they cut it leaves 100% touch accuracy.

are these on verizon's website or just in the store? i tried looking online and there's only 1 screen protector listed for the eris but it doesn't say what brand it is. This is what I found http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=accessoryDetails&archetypeId=11682

I picked a pack of 3 up at the local VZW store. My receipt has the same number as the ones you pointed to from online VZW. However, they are not the same shape as the ones pictured online. Those appear to go from the top of the screen (with a cutout for the earphone) down to just above the 4 buttons. The ones I got go from the bottom of the screen up to the top, stopping where the black part of the screen starts. The protector was very easy to apply and works very well. I don't notice any sensitivity lessening. The package notes "purchased from USA Wireless Solutions".

The 3 pack from verizon works. I'm using it now. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, with no real lose in sensitivity.

I hate anything glossy. Hate. I dual-screen from newy 15" MBPro with a 32" LCD screen.

The Matte/Anti-glare also does an amazing job hiding finger prints and smuges, as well as oil from your face which seems to sit on the glossy plastic i have on now.

If you want the best;

Anti glare Film Set for iPod Touch2G - iPod Touch2G Screen Protector - iPod Touch2G Protector - iPod Touch2G Protective Film - iPod Touch2G Accessories - PowerSupport USA

Power Support Anti Glare Film for iPod touch (2nd Gen.) - Apple Store (U.S.) -> This is what I will be using to cut out/apply to my screen.

Will let you know my results.
