It would help to know:

what your specs are,
what your kernel is and what it is running at
what SET CPU profiles are setup and active
which scaling governor are you using
are you running autokiller and which setting are you using

what are your settings using:
ADW and/or
Launcer Pro

(meaning what is memory set to?) Is it set up at all?
Cache type?

I'll post -- I was running LFY1.5 (installed yesterday evening through ROM Manager). Stock kernel that came with LFY1.5. No other special settings, no autokiller. Running LauncherPro. No cache set up unless the ROM set one up for me (I haven't done anything special).

Saw a post earlier about trying Slayher's 1200 kernel, so downloaded that and about to try it out.

EDIT: Installed the new kernel (first time I've done a new kernel). Something's definitely different -- definitely seems faster. I'll let it percolate for a while, but this may have done what I need.

Question - in my "about phone" it says (for kernel version) 2.6.32.9_slayher. Is that the 1200 version?

Anyway, so far, the phone seems twice as responsive!

Complete nOOb here. Just installed the LFY1.5 and am loving it so far and was wondering how to install one of the themes? Do I do the same thing that I did to install the ROM? I used ROM Manager for that and selected Install from SD Card.

download a theme, copy it to your sdcard, install with rom manager. DO NOT wipe.

Did you sign in with the same google account? It should start doing it within the first few minutes.
It can take a while to download them all too (especially if you have a lot of them, mine typically takes 1/2 hr or so.). Also, sometimes have to reboot after signing in to get it started. You can go into the market and look at downloads and it will show you if any current download activity is happening.

Hey first i wanna say thanks a ton to developers and all the hard work you guys do to make a better droid world for us simple rooters!

Second, I was wondering... is this build based off of frg22d? the one that came out on mydroidworld like a day ago? just curious!

Oh and just one more question... when yall set your setcpu settings what option do you use?
conservative
ondemand
userspace
powersave
permormance
interactive
????

I saw several people say they changed their SetCPU settings to the highest max and made the minimum 1000MHz and set it on Interactive. I have done the same and the performance is now fantastic! Like butter baby. Hopefully the battery won't drain too fast. Will know soon.

Also, for folks running Quadrant score tests, make sure to run it several times. My best score is usually on the third run.

And speaking of wish list, I'd love to be able to change all the notification text colors! Just throwin it out there if Santa Liquid is listening :D

@Yankee, are you still running the same phone, or have you gotten yours replaced. When you wrote up your review on LFY 1.4, it really sounded like you have a hardware issue with your phone with some of the problems you had described back then. It also sounds like you are no longer having those same issues with 1.5. (Which to me is a telling improvement of the ROM, but that's still up dependent on my h/w fault assessment)

Just curious, your reviews are interesting to read.

Nope, same Droid. I'm not sure I don't know what caused 1.4 to get into a short boot loop everytime, but that has thankfully not happened with this build. That was something I only noticed with 1.4 and no other ROM. I don't know what would cause it, might have been my Droid, but I dunno. I also don't know how I could explain to Verizon that they should give me a new Droid because I go into a short boot loop everytime I try to flash a new kernel or theme. lol

I tried this as well, and my battery didn't like it. I keep it at minimum 300, max 1200 and it works just fine on interactive.

Yeah, but I'm not seeing any of this lag so I'm not sure what's "holding it back" for you... I ran out of time last night, but soon I plan on throwing up a video of my phone "in action". I can swipe screens, open apps, rotate to landscape, rotate back to portrait, etc. with the biggest lag being about a 1-2 second delay after changing orientation and trying to resume swiping screens...video will be worth a thousand words LOL

Something I haven't tried was flashing slayher's v. 1.6 kernels. Sure, it might break compcache, but perhaps my Droid just doesn't like the new kernels as much. We haven't talked about diff kernels for diff Droids in a while. I'll give that a go, and if it changes anything, I'll update my review.

Also, I've noticed two more snafus. I wasn't able to turn on USB storage until I did it from clockwork. I don't know why. And trying to adjust the volume from the sound settings would FC settings altogether.

You should post your kernel experiments here too. I'm interested to know how other kernels play in the Liquid.

I've seen some of the lag that YankeeDudeL mentioned.

There are times when I'll do something like open the app drawer and start to scroll and it just stops responding for 2 or 3 seconds and then suddenly catch up.

The delay in waking to answer a call has only happened to me once. After that it's been pretty smooth.

I've also noticed some "stickiness" when typing on the soft keyboard. The text will trail me by 4 or 5 letters, often with one letter expanded in the foreground of the keyboard like I had just hit it, even though it's way behind what I hit recently.

I need to do some more methodical testing with it, but since I'm now 3 days from a major software launch of my own, my time for doing so is likely zero until Labor Day Weekend.

Still, even with the stickiness the ROM is not unpleasant to use. As YankeeDudeL mentioned, when it doesn't stick it just FLIES. I'm wondering if it could be a relationship with the home apps. I'm using LauncherPro+ or premium or whatever the paid-for version is.

Very well could be. I'm also using LauncherPro Plus (;)) with the People and Calender widgets up. But I've been using that for a few weeks, and have reviewed a few ROMs, including each previous LFY build, and this hasn't been an issue up until this point.

I've for the most part keep my homescreens in the exact same setup for months, only changing when I purchased LauncherPro Plus, so I think the comparisons have been fair for someone as untrained as myself.

About the delay - i have experiance the same with in calls. I have had my phone idle for about 2 hrs this morning at work before i tried to call it from the desk phone. It rang 3-4 times before the answer screen loaded up. I then let it sit for 5 more mins and tried again, this time it took 1.5 rings. I do underclock my phone to 250 when screen is off to save batt life. This possibly making the phone recover and load slower when a call is incoming? Ill be doing more tests as today passes.

I've never had the issue and mine is set to 125mhz for the screen off.

I went into the build.prop file, edited the text for call delay
from 1000 to 500. It made a difference on my phone.

Maybe we're not on the same page.

I asked what the difference was in lfy1.5 and lfy1-1.5

I think I misread your post:)
Were you asking between the difference between the two
V1.5's (the first and the one after) with the different MD5?

I'm not sure, but I did read that the slayher kernels were reworked
so that the script for compcache would have to be manually inserted
via a text file (Boddi's has it written down at CM forum) for maximum compatibility.

I believe with this rom if you use one of the Slayher kernels made for this rom compcache is automatically enabled. With the Slayher 1.6 kernels on the CM forum it looks like a script would be required.
