I followed all directions to get yahoo to work on my first droid and it worked flawlessly.
After my first droid froze up,I got another from verizon and want to put my yahoo mail on this one like I had on my first phone.
This time I follow all directions(wifi is off) and I can't get passed the screen where I put username,password changr to imap.mail.yahoo.com. I keep gettin incorrect username or passsword. I tried again and it says unable to connect with server. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
i NEED YAHOO MAIL ON THIS PHONE. Any help would be appreiciated. A step by step would be nice but i'll take what I can get.
I closed all apps
wifi is off
I rebooted
correctly typed my email and password

Make sure Wifi is off.

go to mail icon
add account
enter email address in email address filed (name@yahoo.com)
enter password at password field
select MANUAL SETUP not next
select imap
username= name@yahoo.com
password = yourpassword
imap server= imap.mail.yahoo.com
port=143
security=none
optional = blank
select next

Then, set the outgoing SMTP server to:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com, port 587, security=none

and finish the setup. Hopefully this will work and you can access you yahoo mail account.

Next, click on the email icon (you just setup), bring up the menu and select account settings. Choose Incoming settings and change the Username to your Ymail account - name@ymail.com and save the settings.

worked for me the first but not the second time . give it a try and post your results please

Im having the same problem and it's runining my experience with this phone. I get to the part where I input the imap.mail.yahoo.com and click next, but I can't get to the next screen because it's telling me my username or password is incorrect. No matter what I do I cant get my yahoomail to work. I even downloaded that k9 app and it gives me the same error.

Can someone please help with this problem?. I am encountering the exact problem as the OP. My first droid set up perfect but I had to exchange it and I am unable to set it back up on the second droid. It keeps saying incorrect username and password. I also tried to forward the emails to my gmail accounts but it won't let me. Please help because my yahoo accounts are really iimportant and I can't afford to have a phone that is unable to easily access them. If anyone knows a fix or if the new update fixes the problem, please do share. Thank you!!

I don't use yahoo mail but I do use yahoo messenger and have it set up along with AIM and ICQ in Trillian on my computer. I get FREQUENT messages that my user name or password are incorrect for yahoo only. I just cancel it and it continues to work. I really do think that it is a yahoo problem and not an android problem.

I have also seen an issue where you know your password and use on mobile phone regularly, but when try to login on pc, won't take password, change password to login in on pc, and then even when put new password in on mobile phone, still gives username/password error. I had to delete the account on my phone and re-add it to get yahoo working again......
